About me:
Hello and welcome to AIYF’s MySpace.
Aberdeen International Youth Festival - the World Festival of Youth Arts - is the world's foremost festival of youth arts.
We have around a thousand young people from all over the world coming to Aberdeen every summer, with all artforms represented from classical music and bands to contemporary dance and kabuki.
We use a range of venues across the North East of Scotland, everything from large theatres such as His Majesty’s Theatre to music venues The Tunnels and The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen and further afield in places like Woodend Barn, Clatt Auld Kirk and and MacRobert Hall in Tarland.
By joining up to this profile we can let you know all the festival news and events before anyone else. More information about the Festival and how to take part is on our website – www.aiyf.org
..
Who I'd like to meet: As a multi-arts festival we encourage applications from as broad a range of young artists as possible and include:
theatre - music theatre - chamber ensembles - classical and contemporary dance - opera - youth choirs - orchestras - world music - contemporary music - bands -
visual arts.
In order to be eligible to attend the Festival:
a) Your group must have non-professional status (i.e. company members not making their living from the professional fees)
b) Group members must be aged between 12 and 25 years
If you would like more information please visit our website at www.aiyf.org or contact us here.

Thanks so much for the invite.
I was a member of the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus, and like my co-members, I had so much fun during the Youth Festival in 2006. Thank you for that wonderful experience!
Glad to see you've made a myspace - wonderful idea! And the video is really great - brings a wee tear to the eye! Hope you are all well and fingers crossed we'll see you soon! Lots of love from Paris, Joanne xxx
I participated in the fest in 2005 with Cie Ph/f/ase from Belgium and it was one of the best expierences in my life. Being there, meeting new people, seeing them on stage, all of this has changed my life and myself in so many ways. In good ways. Thanks a lot for giving me and other youngsters from all over the world this opportunity!
We'll be very pleased that our music plays on the new AIYF web site. We are making a mastering of the performence we did at the lemon tree in the aim of doing a new demo. We will send you it as soon as possible.
AIYF stay a very good experience for us. Many thanks for this wonderfuul week we spent in Aberdeen.
The best experience in my first world tour with the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus. We are one of the earliest performers of the AIYF since 1979, so I'm very, very proud. Maraming salamat sa pag-anyaya sa aming koro. Mabuhay ang Pandaiddigang Pangkabataang Kapistahan ng Sining ng Aberdeen! Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino! Mabuhay tayong lahat!
