Sounds Like
All your favorite songs, of course. It's Happy Hour!
Cutting his fingers & developing a rock-solid rythm hand playing in the small country church of West Liberty in Southeastern Oklahoma, Abraham Chappelle
took his craft as a musician to Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, & then to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he became a recognizable face in the college party crowd. In 1998 Abe moved to Colorado where he further developed his musical style busking on Pearl St. in Boulder & performing at Coffee Houses in the Denver-Boulder area. Moving back to Oklahoma in '99, he formed the band "What" & rocked from the college dive bars to dance clubs & outdoor festivals. In January of 2000 Abe made his way to Philadelphia PA where he filled the rythm/lead guitar slot for NicoFly until the middle of 2001, gracing stages from FDR Park to the Hard Rock Cafe.
After leaving NicoFly to persue his solo career he busked South Street, hosted open mics at Dr. Watson's pub, Club Dos, North 3rd, 12 Steps Down, & currently the Crazy Fish Saloon, writing new songs & putting out a few demos with the help of Elektroworx Studios.
Abe The Rockstarr performs solo or with the Happy Hour Band, which began forming at Webster Street Studios in 2003 with Matt Stevenson on Keyboards & Bass Guitar. Meant to be simply "Happy Hour" the name was changed when the duo realized they were playing every bar in town from five to seven pm.
Abe's songs are the kind that burn into your brain & stay there until your feet find the rythm as you go about your day. From the Jazz-Blues influenced "Onesided Argument" to the straightforeward rockers like "Wasn't She?" & "Back to Work" Abe's songs have been called everything from "Jems" to "Timeless" & always keep people coming back for more.
