A-Bex was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He spent most of his life in Miami, Florida, becoming a visual and audio artist. He moved to St. Louis in 2000 to study Graphic Design and Writing at Washington University. In the following four years, he established himself as a skilled and respected emcee in the St. Louis underground.
With the help of close friends DJ Trackstar and his live rap group Sac Lunch (www.saclunch.com), he found his niche as one of the area's premiere lyricists, collaborating with other local producers and rappers on a variety of mixtapes and original projects. He was there for the rise of the One Dollar Mix phenomenon and the Mansion Music moniker and hopes to help continue its success today.
In 2004, he graduated and was accepted to a fellowship in design and advertising at Wash U, which he completed in the spring of 2005. In June of the same year, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he now works as a title sequence designer for film and broadcast. He continues to write and record with other artists in Los Angeles, some with prior St. Louis ties.
