Influences	All music that moves me. It could be the sound of a baby gurgling or a bird singing. Music is everywhere. Notes are in the squeak of a chair or the fall of a step. Influences come from everywhere. We are naturally receptive beings so even sounds that jar are sounds that influence. I am very inspired by people who create whether it is a song, a painting, a cake or an idea. Events and people also influence my music. Painting by Abigail Smith 2006.

About Abigail Smith-New Album out in Tower&Road Records

Multi instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter Abigail Smith has released her first album Night Time Walking. Smith began writing music at a very early age. Her original style of music is the result of a diverse musical up bringing. She has featured on albums by David Kitt, Somadrone, 3epkano, Brianna Corrigan (Beautiful South) and Star Little Thing. She was selected to play at the 2008 Electric Picnic with her group. She won a prize with Hotpress and the New York Tisch Film School to have a music video made for her song “Oh Sam.” http://short.ie/ohsam. She was commissioned to write music for the animated film “Trolley Boy,” which was screened at the Galway film festival 2009. She was also commissioned to write a piece for the internationally renowned ‘Diversus Guitar Ensemble.’ They will include an arrangement of her song Light A Match from her album Night Time Walking on their upcoming tour. Night Time Walking is Abigail’s first release. She is currently working with a producer Arron Faye on her next album, which will be released in 2010. Ed Power, in the Independent on Friday 16.01.2009, wrote of her upcoming LP “Expect it to feature prominently when critics come to assess their favourite Irish record of 2009.” Paintings by Abigail Smith 2006.
