Forming in late 1999, the sound of "a big name act" was cultivated through extensive improvisations, as well as their interest in progressive, ambient and film/soundtrack music. As the group continued, electronic music forms and computer language found their way into the fold. This collision of styles lent to the sound of the groups' self-titled first record released in 2003. It was also during this year the band contributed music to the film "Ray of Darkness." As 2004 began, new members were sought. The band needed to go into a different musical direction. Being inspired by underground rock styles and guitar noise, ABNA began composing material for their upcoming record "Last Crumbs of the White Bread Empire." Fueled by a more intense sound, the band began performing publicly more than it had in the past.
As 2005 continues, ABNA are currently working on the soundtrack/sound design for the short film "Ellie," written and directed by Matt Levin. They are also putting the moves on the next studio album due to be out soon.
