A Birdsong Valentine isn't your typical alt-metal-hardcore group inspired by screaming, shredding guitars and melodic 3 part harmonies. To be sure, their sound incorporates those elements, but the group possesses more depth and desire than most involved with the emo-core/post-grunge rock revival. Formed in the heart of Chicago in 2006, Brian Bender, Masta Shen, Oscar Diaz and Nate Bauman have achieved a great deal of success in a small period of time with a D.I.Y. attitude to get heard in an overly saturated market. The band's first album “GIVING IN AGAIN” (August 2007) was recorded with Emmy Award winning producer Freddie Breitberg (Neil Diamond, Natalie Cole, Britney Spears). Their second effort, "SINK OR SWIM" (October 2008) was recorded with producer Matt Mercado (Mind Bomb, Escape From Earth), and finds the band venturing into even harder-hitting territory as they hone their unique raw sound and harsh style.

They will be joined by MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, CAPITAL LIGHTS, MY CHILDREN MY BRIDE and a handful of other great bands. CD's will be available for FREE starting October 26th, 2008. Only 8,000 pressings have been made so get them while they last. 10.12.08 ::: CHICAGO NOISE MACHINE Nine Chicago rock bands are uniting to form Chicago Noise Machine, a partnership of musicians that will collaborate on a series of concerts and compilation albums over the next year. A Birdsong Valentine, Algren, Bullet Called Life, Echoson, Heavy the Fall, Lucid Ground, Reverie, 72 Hours, and Simplistic Urge hope to draw mor=" URL e attention to the local music scene in Chicago by coordinating their performance and promotion efforts. The kickoff Chicago Noise Machine show will take place at The Cubby Bear (Wrigleyville) on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 7:00pm with all nine member bands performing. This will be the start of something special! 10.8.08 ::: SINK OR SWIM EP FINISHED The album is finally finished. Tracking and Mixing went smooth with producer MATT MERCADO @ Sonic Palace Studios in Oak Park. Mastering with Doug McBride @ Gravity Studios in Chicago went even smoother. FREE downloads of the album are available on the myspace page and MP3.com. Album artwork is being finished up by Jaime Radar and then will be sent out for pressing.
