Music is an essential part of my life. Everything is music or sound. I have always an orchestra inside. It is a pity that one cannot record thought-music, impromptu-inside-brain … that is easily forgotten.
I am not a professional musician. But engaging in the world of Sounds has been very important for me since I was a child. I remember being much impressed by what I had the opportunity to hear at home. My family bought, when I was about 4 years, an old piano. My grandmother (who studied with a great musician in Ukraine) taught my older sisters, and I begun playing, as we say, “by ear”. When I played whatever I wanted without formal training, she was not quite happy.
“The Engulfed Cathedral” (Debussy) impressed me very much. I felt surrounded by mystery. We used to listen mainly classical music. A lot of folk music too.
I studied Chemistry, and worked for some time in Scientific Research. At 33, I had to leave the labs due to chronic intoxication. I acquired a Polymoog, a 4 track recorder, then a Moog “Source”, and some other items. After some time, I continued making my musical experiments with digital keyboards and external sequencers.
Meanwhile, I dedicated part of the time to another important to me activity, me since a child: painting and drawing.
The last maybe 9 years I had not the conditions to dedicate to music but for a very short time. This year 2008 I am beginning again, with two or three projects.
I had been for many years environmental and community issues activist.
I love to read and study when I can, mainly scientific subjects.
