Two years ago I was starting my Senior year at The Evergreen State College and taking a class entitled Heroes of the Heart. A life long lover of mythology, I had taken it on impulse; a response to the lack of direction I was struggling with and a growing dissatistfaction with my educational experience. It was in that class that the seeds were planted that changed my life forever.
Now, two years later, I have just finished my first full length album entitled "Heroically Lost, Heroically Found" (after a line in the Yeats poem "A Crazed Girl") Heroically Lost, Heroically Found is a coming of age novel in melodic form. Using lyrics inspired by my personal experience and tempered through the lens of myth, the album is an effort to describe the cycles of death and rebirth that mark the major events in our lives.
It is largely acoustic with dreamy harmonies that create an other worldly feel.
The album is arranged to mirror a folk tale. It begins light with The Cycle, which acts as a Greek chorus to set the scene and hint at what it to come. Loft in Seattle comes second. It is what I like to think of as the "Someday My Prince Will Come" piece of the album. Imagining an idyllic future, the "hero" longs for a soul mate and sets out for the city, only to find that once you leave all you have known, you can never return the same. The Prodigal, the third song on the album, describes the isolation and loneliness that mark that departure. Fourth is The Holes in Myself. Without the cushing stafety of child hood, the "hero" re-examines her past only to discover that she has been the victim of her own projections; lost in illusions that she created. The album continues with further decent into the otherworld and eventual rebirth with the tenth song, " Hearts Try Their Wings", a subdued but honest love song about celebrating the time we have with those we love, even if it does not last forever.
Now living in Seattle and working full time as a receptionist, I play wherever I can get a show. If you are interested in having me play at your venue you can contact me through myspace, or at mail@abigracemusic.com
Really beautiful voice and songs! Hope we run into each other around the Seattle acoustic scene. I play a show every Sunday at Bill's Off Broadway in Capitol Hill (Pine and Harvard) 8-10 p.m. with a few other local musicians, if you're ever in the neighborhood. Bill's also has a Monday night open mic that starts between 8 and 9 (little iffy during football season). Not happening this Monday (due to a holiday party) but every other Monday it is.

..........a vitality and creative spark crackling throughout this album……..This is definitely the finest thing the band have released, imaginative, crisp, free flowing and with a warm production, I heartily recommend it to all lovers of space/psychedelic rock music. (Simon Lewis- Ptolmaic Terrascope)
“Sendelica stand out from the crowd. ...they play instrumental stoner rock without getting boring. Which in itself is a feat of epic notoriety. ..... I start to think about Black Sabbath and John Coltrane, because there is some of both in Sendelica. . http://www.monochrom.at/cracked/reviews/Rev%20sendelica.htm
the band conjures a freewheeling psychedelic sound which is based on the typical power trio instrumentation. …a psychedelic journey that starts out quietly enough, builds up momentum and erupts eventually into a kaleidoscopic crescendo. DisAQgreement, Luxembourg…. http://www.disagreement.net/
