Aborted Society began in the Winter of 1998 as a website. There wasn't a lot of punk content on the web, and we wanted to make something that was useful amidst the myriad of advertisements and bad writing the internet is so renowned for. In 1999, Rob and Jack began the Aborted Society Zine, a project that was supposed to come out 4 times a year, but ended up coming about about once every 7 months. We have since stopped doing the zine, but we have intentions of starting a new publication sometime in the future. Keep posted on that. At some point, we will archive all of the zines online for your perusal and general merriment.
Started putting out records and promoting shows in June of 2000. We specialize in crust, hardcore punk, and grindcore. We are always looking for new material to release, so get in touch if you're in a band that might fit on our label. We're looking for bands that don't generally fall under typical classifications, bands that have original artwork, ideas, and sounds.

ORDER OF THE VULTURE – DEATH DISCIPLE LP
Portland’s ORDER OF THE VULTURE returns with a second full-length LP, entitled “Death Disciple.” Picking up right where their 1st LP ..ed Society left off, this is six tracks of unrelenting, pummeling d-beat crust with a strong black metal influence. Tortured screams and mind-warping noise interludes come head to head with some of the most intense crust punk we’ve ever released. Fans of black metal pioneers BATHORY and Sweden’s WOLFBRIGADE will both find common ground here. Dark, grim aesthetics propel this record, with a gatefold lyric insert complete with in-depth song analysis and the VULTURE’s own “Manifesto for Evil” texts. Cover art by singer/guitarist J.J. From PE's description: Following directly on their heels of their 2007 debut LP, Minneapolis’ BLACKOUT deliver another dose of angst-ridden punk rock'n'roll madness. The music is powerful hardcore punk (read POISON IDEA) with a healthy dose of MOTÖRHEAD style metal. Lyrics are cut-to-the-bone observations about life on the ugly underside of society and are heavily influenced by classic American Blues music. BLACKOUT members have been part of the Profane Existence family for nearly two decades and include members of ASSRASH, PROVOKED, STILLBORN, PHALANX, etc. As with the previous album, this was recorded at the House of Misery studio and the CD version is available from Profane Existence Records. WAKE UP ON FIRE / NUX VOMICA – split 12”
A long time coming, this is a collaboration by two of the most intense bands to ever come out of Baltimore: WAKE UP ON FIRE, and NUX VOMICA. Now defunct, WAKE UP ON FIRE were known for their immensely heavy cello-laden doom crust, mixing clean-channel atmospherics with tribal drumming and searing guitars. These tracks are both faster and heavier than their debut LP on Torture Garden, and serve as a nice conclusion to the band’s active history. NUX VOMICA return off the heels of their AS debut LP “A Civilized World,” and deliver a complex mix of crust, epic metal, and clean-channel post-rock/drone. Both groups have managed to evade easy categorization, and this release is certainly no exception. Cover art by Little Debee.
