About me:

We are "The Unwanted Children of Art."
You might say, what does that mean exactly. Well, in short we ARE outsider art. We have very little concern for public approval. We just wish to continue doing what we do. It is art for the sake of art and ourselves. An uncompromised vision that leads many people to throwing us, our ideals, and our actions away. And yet we carry forward because DOING SOMETHING is important; NOT what people think about what you are doing.
Abortion Bin Productions was conceived as a muti-media venture in a dingy 1 bedroom apartment in the ghetto of Valpo by Brian Hirschbine and Josh Fox (Whom has gone on to great success with THE PARSLEY FLAKES...Check them out in Chicago) in 2001.... Between 2001 and 2004... all attempts at progress were defeated and while numerous recordings were amassed and a number of scripts completed no coherent project emerged.

How did we get here?

The Infamous Killer Bees: In 2005, Brian Hirschbine along with Bob Baldwin (now of SIR Productions) & Brandon Husell ( Author; Poet and Actor) formed the experiment The Infamous Killer Bees. Known at the time As Bee1; Bee2; & Bee 3, The Infamous Killer Bees recorded 5 albums over 3 years. In the vein of Throbbing Gristle; Frank Zappa; The Legendary Pink Dots ; Cock ESP; and Home appliances, traffic, and static...it was an experience; seen only once during 1 live performance..and 10 minutes of another. The Bees disbanded after recording My Secret Romance with Eva Braun in 2007...and I can promise much like Talking Heads...there will be no reunion.

The God Memoirs: Completed during 2005/2006.
The movie was written, directed, produced, financed, and edited by Brian Hirschbine, who also did set design, creature construction, and special effects.
Brandon Hursell: was cast as the lead character; associate producer; and assisted in production.
Bob Baldwin: came on for a week of shooting; and was in charge of sound track.
Megan Dwyer and Bridgette Dolliver came on board shortly as Production Managers and in essence helped more than thier share in carrying the film through to completion assisting with special effect; make-up; cleaning; and goffer work.
The God memoirs was originally wriiten as a project for Jason toth and Brian Hirschbine to complete in 2004; however; lack of equipment and conflicting schedules prevented pre-production and shooting. The production Itself was 6 months of grueling hell; as everyone was learning what they were doing as we went along. Personal Problems, financing, living condtions; everything was shit...however, Ron Bonk at SRS saw something in the finished product and optioned the distribution in 2006. Looking back, The God Memoirs is a disappointment to me, in that it could have been much better; particularly in the edit and flow...something I plan to fix when the rights are returned in 2012.

Abortion Bin Productions embarked quickly into another film venture. Synchronicity. The film also included local actors: John Evan; Sadie Attkins; Janice Windicity; Lorenzo; Andrew; Bob; and a few others. Synchronicity was concieved as a black comedy, presented in a surreal horror fashion...well at least parts of it were funny. Do to the quickness of shooting and minimal locations, morale remainded high. A few set backs occurred but all in all Synchronicity was a very team driven project. In the end of 2006; synchronicty was optioned by Ron Bonk and was released March 2008.

In early 2007, Brian envisioned a winter film about a woman exploring her sexuality and becoming entangled in a web of circumstances as she is unable to differentiate between her fantasy and reality. The film was entitled Black Ice...Shot between December 2006 and June 2007....the film proved to be too much for the team. Cramped living conditions, life stresses, school, work, an erratic shooting schedule, production problems, problems with actors, problems with actors health and escalating tensions...Almost stopped the project. However, filming was completed. See the commentary for more info. In 2008 Black Ice was also optioned by SRS Cinema for a 2009 release.

TAPEWORM: PreProduction 2008
The completed script TAPEWORM will be the next production scheduled to start in FEB of 2009. the Current crew is : Brian Hirschbine; Jason toth; Brandon Hursell; J.C. Howe; Tony; Jasper and a few others whom have expressed interest or whom we've approached. Open casting will begin by the end of summer.
Tapeworm is best Described as "ChinaTown meets Videodrome, meets Tetsuo the Iron man." it is more a Film Noir about transformation...with alot of body horror.
FAMILY VACTATION: the Short
The Family Vacation has already been filmed and submitted to the Toe Tag Box set. I let Jason deal with this matter as he is a huge ToeTag fan...and he has recieved good feedback from Fred Vogel. The second short we plan is called Christmas Cheer and is cast and will be shot hopefully by the time I die...as it keeps getting delayed.

Who I'd like to meet:
People willing to work; whom want to work on a film project to meet thier own ends...be that acting; production experince; Special effect work; design work, or costuming...I don't want to work with people who think this is fun...I want to work with people who do it because they love it and feel they have to do it for themselves.
BUT... specifically...with those stipulations
we are looking for an editor, CG artist/animator, further special effects team members, and more acting talent. The pay is nothing, there are no benefits, but we do write letters of recommendation, and get distribution for our product.
We would also like to invite any actors...non-sag oriented now...sorry but our budgets are about that of a day of Kraft Services...from the Chicago land area or Northwest Indiana. Particularly film students and student actors from Columbia college or local theater groups that are interested in doing something locally. You can contact us here to obtain a script of a future production and what roles we are casting for...and remember just because we are not casting for it doesn't mean you should not try out for that role...we always try to put the best we can on sceen.
