During the November election last year, the people of South Dakota rejected a proposed abortion ban in their state. While running for governor in Florida, Charlie Crist said that he would sign a similar bill into law if given the chance.
Given the fact that state legislatures all over the country are rushing to outlaw abortion (including our neighbor Georgia), we consider this a serious threat that requires a serious response from the women of Florida!
Nine other states have proposed total or near total abortion bans already this legislative session. Join us in telling Florida Governor Charlie Crist that we won’t be next!
We are gathering petition signatures from people across the state to bring to Tallahassee on Friday, April 13. Our petition warns Crist and other Florida politicians not to touch our abortion rights, and it demands that women have access to abortion and contraception as a matter of basic justice—no restrictions, no judgments, no apologies—just birth control when we want it.
Om mig: NOW is a multi-issue political organization. NOW's self-defined role has been
to initiate change for the benefit of the greatest number of people, to affect the
legal and institutional structures of the society in a way that systematically
expands the choices and possibilities available to all women. In this way,
NOW takes action to bring women, as a class, into the mainstream of society,
rather than offering aid to individual women, in achieving personal solutions or
temporary relief from oppression, exercising all privileges and responsibilities
thereof in true partnership with men.

The Righteous Kind is headlining a groovy rockin’ show Friday night at the Backstage Lounge (1315 South Main St, just south of Downtown). Here’s the lineup Adrenalin axis (Classic rock from Tampa) Bang, Bang, Boom (One of Gainesville’s premier rock bands) The Righteous Kind
Music starts at 10:00. If you haven’t heard Bang, Bang, Boom you are in for a treat. They put on an amazing show, rock like there’s no tomorrow, and are a lot of fun! Amy Lynn and I go and see them pretty much every time they play.
The Righteous Kind is in the studio! Goldentones studio, and master recording guru, Rob McGregor, that is. And, NOW friends, we got the goods! Look for a Righteous Kind CD in late June or early July. It's going to be righteous! It's everywhere and every place. Like you it's beautiful!

Hey NOW friends, First, thank you so much for posting the comment below with the lyrics for my song "Show me the day." Truly means a lot to me.
The Righteous Kind is playing Saturday night, April 12, at Brophy's Irish Pub, downtown. We are the only band on the bill, and we are playing all night - 10:00 until 2:00. We learned a bunch of new material, and we are excited about playing it live! It's going to be a real happeneing! Please come and be a part of it. Brophy's is in the new parking garage building across SW 2nd street from Market Street Pub. You can't miss it. Chuck

Show me the day by Charles Ray
The wind has blown this way before When they fought to end that Asian war We thought that peace was here to stay Show me the day I said - show me the day
It seemed the moment had arrived When they marched way back in ‘65 You think Jim Crow has gone away? Show me the day I said - show me the day
Show me a new day dawning End of this long black night Show me we all are brothers I had a dream last night!
The world is such an ugly scene ‘Cause hate is deep inside our genes You say that love will find away Show me the day I said - show me the day
Show me a new day dawning End of this long black night Show me we all are brothers I had a dream last night!
The world is such an ugly scene ‘Cause hate is deep inside our genes But nurture is the other way Teach love today Preach love today Show me the way Teach Charles Ray
I may not be able to go to the meeting, but i am more than willing to go on the 13th. Most probably, i will take my car. Just let me know what we are doing and if you need me to do or sign anything:)
Hello dear twisted sisters! Excellent idea to put us on Myspace. I think GA NOW needs their own profile.
I wish i could make it to the rally but my friend Kelly is getting married that Saturday at Key West so i'll be going South on Friday. I already signed the petition though.
Anyway hope you kick ass at Tallahassee.
Rock on sisters!
