Loki formed 3 hours before doing their first live show on Echo Radio in march 2007. They have maintained this haphazard way of going about things till this day and only write new songs when Nash is awake and Alan isn't eating, and like a solar eclipse it is hard to judge the combining of these two events in advance. Despite this Loki are a riotous live act, often drawing on their improvisational song-writing techniques to extend their tunes to keep the audience dancing. They have had three guitarists since forming, including Julian, who has now changed his name by Deed poll to Paul Gad, Sam, who was blind at night, and have now settled on the Artist Formally Know as Cousin Mike.
In summer 2007 Loki recorded their songs live in Joe's kitchen in Farnborough. these combined with the recordings from the Echo sessions made up their first, self titled EP. They have recently recorded two new track at the Spin FM studios in Redhill, and these will be released in early 2009 as "Loki at The Oakley".
