Music
I tend toward World music, electronica, trance, and such.
Movies
I love all kinds of movies, but tend toward movies with a point - Cool Runnings, Groundhog Day, 12 Monkeys, The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shawshank Redemption, Spiderman, Fight Club, Shrek, The Professional, Vanilla Sky, Powder, Aladdin, Mind the Gap, loonie Jim Carrie movies, and yes, the chickiest chick movie of all time (according to my buddy John), The Princess Bride.
Television
I don't actually have cable, but I do watch re-runs of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report via the web.
Books
Lots! :) For enrichment, classics, such as The Dhammapada, The Bagavadgita, and books by or about Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi, Ramakrishna, and Vivekananda as well as modern books, such as books by Gangaji, Tolle, and Morgan's The Martial Way. For teaching yoga, I've been catching up on the yoga classics and modern books.

I work as a part-time yoga teacher (emphasis on part - maybe a class or two a week) and a graduate research assistant while attending CSU full time in the Occupational Therapy Masters program. I have a lot of interests - especially mindfulness (including meditation), health & wellness. I love learning, and am usually reading several books at a time (some for school, and some just for fun).
This summer was all about landscaping... moving a few tons of rocks from the back to the front, digging holes, assembling a gate, planting countless drought-tolerant beauties, and such. What fun to be unemployed! :)
This fall, I'm back for my last year of school and back working in my research position. Well, that and fitting as much time outside as possible into my schedule... I sure love this time of year, when we fluctuate between snow and warm sunshine... straddling two gorgeous seasons.
The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised
The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.
I'd love to catch up with any old friends I've somehow lost touch with along the way. Also, I'd love to meet fun, interesting people - whether locals or on the other side of the world. Since I'm new to Fort Collins, finding out more about neat places or people in town would definitely be cool! Cafe chats, yoga classes, hikes, etc.
A poem a friend shared that I found sublimely beautiful:
What hurts you, blesses you.
Darkness is your candle.
Your boundaries are your quest.
I can explain this, but it would break
the glass cover on your heart,
and there's no fixing that.
Hi Robin. Don't forget to buy reunion tix.! I really hope that you can come down. I also hope that I don't catch the swine flu just in time for the reunion. Ahhh primary care :)

I just wanted to say your tarot card "The Star" is mine too :) And ps, we're both Aries.. Spark spark ;)
"Come on baby, light my fire!" Haha... speaking of "fires," I am going camping this weekend, whoo whoo and will be sitting by *many* fires! Can you prove the best? Come on, Aries, give it your best shot!
How are you? It's been such a long time. I hope you are enjoying this summer and all of it's beauty. I've been so busy and I'm going through some "transitioning", but it's all good. Enjoy the rest of your summer. :)
Thank you for the beauty you bring to my page, and to my life!
I hope the weekend provides some time and space for your precious dreams.
Much love to you, sister....
They were sitting They were sitting on the Strawberry Swing Every moment was so precious
They were sitting They were talking under Strawberry Swing Everybody was for fighting Wouldn't wanna waste a thing
Cold, cold water bring me 'round Now my feet won't touch the ground Cold, cold water what ya say? When it's such… It's such a perfect day It's such a perfect day
I remember We were walking up to Strawberry Swing I can't wait until the morning Wouldn't wanna change a thing
People moving all the time Inside a perfectly straight line Don't you wanna just curve away? When it's such… It's such a perfect day It's such a perfect day
Ahhh...
Now the sky could be blue I don't mind Without you it's a waste of time
Could be blue I don’t mind Without you it’s a waste of time
Could be blue, Could be gray Without you I’m just miles away
Could be blue I don’t mind Without you it’s a waste of time
You, Beloved, who are all the gardens I have ever gazed at, longing. An open window in a country house – , and you almost stepped out, pensive, to meet me. Streets that I chanced upon, - you had just walked down them and vanished. And sometimes, in a shop, the mirrors were still dizzy with your presence and, startled, gave back my too-sudden image. Who knows? perhaps the same bird echoed through both of us yesterday, separate, in the evening…
Rainer Maria Rilke, translated by Stephen Mitchell
Hi Robin -- your presence touches me so deeply! Thank you....
Questo muro
Quando mi vide star pur fermo e duro turbato un poco disse: "Or vedi figlio: tra Beatrice e te e questo muro."
- Dante, Purgatorio XXVII
You will come at a turning of the trail to a wall of flame
After the hard climb & the exhausted dreaming
you will come to a place where he with whom you have walked this far will stop, will stand
beside you on the treacherous steep path & stare as you shiver at the moving wall, the flame
that blocks your vision of what comes after. And that one who you thought would accompany you always,
who held your face tenderly a little while in his hands--- who pressed the palms of his hands into drenched grass & washed from your cheeks the soot, the tear-tracks---
he is telling you now that all that stands between you & everything you have known since the beginning
is this: this wall. Between yourself & the beloved, between yourself & your joy, the riverbank swaying with wildflowers, the shaft
of sunlight on the rock, the song. Will you pass through it now, will you let it consume
whatever solidness this is you call your life, & send you out, a treamor of heat,
