About me: AboveGround Records began as an idea by someone who was sick of the corporate machine that is our record industry. First started in 1998 in Houston,TX, the label then moved to Southern California in 2001. Its first act was the punk/funk/hip-hop hybrid EXPORNSTARS. After that band's demise, we set our sights on REASON TO REBEL, a revolutionary cutting-edge quartet from North County San Diego. Now our roster includes 12 other acts from the SoCal area and beyond: everyone's favorite reggae-rock fusion band MEAN DINOSAUR, punk metal thrashers FLASHBURN, the Italian post-hardcore group MUSTY WIG, funk/punk project ZENITH ZONE GRIEVANCE, a melodic experimental alternative group from Italy called SAVALAS, a brand new undergound hip-hop group from Houston, TX named CRIMINAL MINDZ, I-45 frontman TechRon B's new rock band AVITIA, R2R drummer Daniel Zivkovich's metal masterpiece THE MIDAS TOUCH, Oceanside, CA's hometown heroes IRIESIDE, R2R guitarist Evan Jones' side-project GHOST FREQUENCY, Boston psychedelic rockers AEOLIAN RACE, Mean Dino & R2R guitarist Jeremy McCall's original claim-to-fame BURIED IN ARUBA, and new hardcore supergroup SHE SAID SEVER. Our commitment at this label is to bring you the best of all genres in music, but with emphasis on musicians who aren't afraid to speak their mind or let their creativity shine. Look at you...standing there...strong...powerful...nothing is impossible for you...no limitations...you are the earth...you are the sky...and they are you...now, laugh...bigger...one of those gut bursting, side hurting, deep belly laughs...that's it. :)
Ya I left man, I just fucking got a uhaul the night before and booked it without telling anyone. I was a heartbroken betrayed women and had to get away.
I miss you and coming over sitting on your couch blazing and doing absolutely nothing. Come to Hollywood, I'm still not living on top of a hill but I love it here! Even though for now I have to eat .89 cent burritos lol..mmm Taco Bell. Come up!
Sometimes when i look around, all i see is misery, despair, frustration and pain...
Then, i close my eyes, take a couple deep breaths, RELAX...And ask myself, "WHAT IF all I saw was what I WANTED TO SEE?" Then, I open my eyes. I see the sun, I see the blue sky, I see my girls smiling back at me, I see life...
And then, lo and behold, I see nothing but OPPORTUNITY...
