About me:
"A Boxful of Treasures" Folk Club is a non-profit Club whose stated purpose is to encourage and promote all forms of musical and artistic expression of Scottish, Irish English and Wales Folk Music". There is a deliberate policy in the festival to combine well established folk musicians and emerging talents, A Boxful of Treasures Folk Festival is a traditional Folk Festival. The Festival is organised on a non-commercial basis and it hosts and promotes the greats of Irish, Scottish and English Folk Music. This is the first edition of the Festival and it will be held in Forlì, Italy. The Folk Festival brings together some of the most important performers of our times with roots to English, Wales, Scottish & Irish Folk Music. The "A Boxful of Treasures" Folk Festival is a multi-day music festival held at the historic "Piazzetta della Misura" in the centre of Forlì. Forlì is 65 km south of Bologna. Thi year's event will kick off on Friday, June 27th, and Saturday, June 28th, with two full evening concerts at the City Centre of Forlì. All of the shows for the 2008 Folk Festival Concert Series in Forlì are free to the public. They are held outdoors, but are not therefore subject to cancellation or relocation if there is inclement weather. As a matter of fact, in this case the concerts will be held at the "Sala Santa Caterina". ***************************************************************************************** The lineup for the 2008 "A Boxful of Treasures" Folk Festival has been announced and includes: Seylan Bexter & Cheyenne Brown, a very excellent Scottish duo who usually play "Scottish harp cello and song" from Glasgow; Rallion - a superb four-piece-band from Glasgow & Edinburgh, and Imogen Gunner "Imoband Quartet" + Special Guests, a fantastic Traditional Band from Co. Clare, Ireland & Oxford/South East England, United Kingdom. ***************************************************************************************** "A Boxful of Treasures" Folk Festival was a labour of love for all those who run it, as well as for those who performed. Many people enjoyed the folk festival and we hope that they will return year after year to experience the fine mixture of music and hospitality. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the visiting and the Musicians who behave so enthusiastically and professionally over the course of the Festival and help us in a whole range of capacities over the Festival to make the Festival such a success. We would like to thank the Municipality of Forlì who sponsor specific events. Along with the generosity and dedication of the artists who come to perform here, it is the support of the people who come to see the concerts and other events that is most valuable to the future of "A Boxful of Treasures" Folk festival. Admission prices are therefore kept free. If you have any queries or comments about the Festival, please email antoniomastroianni@yahoo.it. Queries will be answered as soon as possible. If you have any photographs from the first edition of the Folk Festival that you would like to share, we would be delighted to hear from you. *****************************************************************************************

We are organizing a new edition of our Folk Festival for the next summer 2009 and our promotion team is looking for all folk musicians who want to give the best of themselves on our free stage. Soloists and Groups in all styles may apply as long as Tradional Folk Music is the main acoustic traditional music played on non-electronic instruments. Each participant must send a description as detailed as possible of the history of the group, the program, and any other information, which may be of interest to the public and will be utilised for the introductions of the group, and can be included in the press release. "A Boxful of Treasures Folk Festival" is a multi-day Traditional Folk Music Festival and there is a deliberate policy in the festival to combine well established folk musicians and emerging talents. The Festival is organised on a non-commercial basis and it hosts and promotes the greats of Irish, Scottish, Wales and English Folk Music. The aim of the organisers is to preserve the Scottish, Irish, Wales & English cultural heritage and also to allow Italian people to learn to know each other better. Therefore much time is reserved for playing acoustic folk music. This is the second edition of the Festival and it will be held in Forlì, 65 km south of Bologna. The full open-air performances take place in the historic "Piazzetta della Misura" in the City Centre of Forlì, behind "Piazza Saffi", the Forlì mail square. This year's event will kick off on Friday, July 31th, and Saturday, August 1th, with two full evening concerts. All of the shows for the 2009 Folk Festival Concert Series are free to the public. The lineup of the festival will be officially announced shortly, and those musicians interested in participating should contact us as soon as possible. We would like to thank the Municipality of Forlì who sponsor specific events. Along with the strong generosity, cooperation and dedication of the Artists who will come to perform here, it is also the support of people who 'll come to see the concerts and other events that is most valuable to the future of our festival. Musicians interested in participating in the festival should contact us with the utmost urgency. We offer our hospitality and our hearts to those who want to share with us this fantastic project inspired by friendship and good music and surrounded by our Mediterranean climate ! We thank you with all our hearts all those who make possible the realization of this wonderful dream .... Dear A Boxful of Treasures Folk Festival,

Every time that we listen & write music... play an instrument... dance... act in a play... or work in some audio/image/video engineering process... something is healing inside...

When we share it with friends... something is healing all over...

Love can drive... in a simple way... everything

We are connected

Estimada/o A Boxful of Treasures Folk Festival,

Estamos conectados...
