I am a recording engineer, songwriter, producer, and recently a proud new father of a little girl - Norah. I grew up in the midwest with an enerjetic hardcore scene. I badly wished i could scream and write music that would envoke riots, but i quickly discovered - i'm not that tough, or at least don't have the abillity to personify aggression and contained violence all for the sake of a good time and the all encompassing rock.
Sometime in the late 1990's my brother and i formed the emo rock band Lucid Chrysalis before the name "emo" was molested by junior higher's who found their identity wearing girls jeans and died black comb-overs. We loved music that expressed our joys and confusion with life. The beauty in hope and the sadness of loss. Lucid Chrysalis released one full length album "The Way I've Felt," which was a diary of sorts of my young high school attempts at love and life.
For the last 6 years i have continued to write about the things and people that move me. Music is vast and it's hard to create a melody or a rhythm where millions have already been. I am blessed to be able to spend the rest of my life figuring out new, fun and honest ways to capture, create and encourage music in others and myself.
Hey, Dave - I saw you live at Everyday Joe's this weekend for the first time, and just wanted to tell you that your lyrics touched my heart, and I actually got a little verklempt... :oP
You sing with such a sincere heart and have such a pure voice, it's awesome.
Thanks for using God's gift and blessing those around you. Keep it up! You are a joy to watch perform, and I'm so glad you're "ours," here in FC!
