Abracadabra Records is a British Independent record label established in 2007. The concept of the label was the innovation of Ryan Kelly (AKA Casper) and Bernard Sasu (AKA Burnz).
Bernard and Ryan were next door neighbours from infancy. They both attended the same school and shared their love of hip-hop. It would be years later when their solid friendship would become a dynamic business partnership in the music industry. The idea of Abracadbra Records sparked during a conversation with Ryan and Bernard when they were discussing ways of improving life conditions. Music had always been their passion and life long ambition, the creation of the label was the ideal opportunity to change their lives and open doors for both of them.
At the time, Ryan had been working for a film production company for 4 years and had built a strong relationship with the company’s Producer, Neil Gardiner (MA). Ryan put together a business proposal for Abracadabra Records and presented it to Neil who saw the potential and heart of the project. Neil eagerly came on board and financially backed the creation of the label. Ryan went on to ask his friend and co-worker, Abdi Omar, to help with the project and lend his creative input. Abdi happily agreed and now acts as the label’s Events Manager and oversees PR.
The title of the label was thought up by both Ryan and Bernard. Deciding to separate themselves from the obvious they opted for a name that embodied what they intended to achieve; a music movement on a new level. And so Abracadabra was chosen for its symbolism as a powerful and magical combination. The label believes it is time for the UK to really step up and be counted by both its home land and America in terms of music talent. The label plans to be involved in everything from hosting and attending events and tours, to producing music videos, albums, instrumentals and even hosting raves. The label has a few more artists in the pipeline and is looking in the near future to sign both new and established artists and acts purely on talent and regardless of genre.
