All of our inspired bands mixed together, then formed into a person, bashed with a camel then recored.
Abrasion are a three piece death metal band based in Melbourne Australia. The band has existed since 1996 and was the brain child of Adam Shirley and Paul Toth.
The band has three releases:
"Terror Ignition" Demo 1999
"Anti Population" EP 2001
"Violent Core Traction" Full Length 2006
Abrasion were one of Australia's hardest working musical outfits. The band had various line up changes over its 10 year life (4 guitarists, 3 bass players, 2 singers), but found stability in 1999 consisting of Adam Vox/Guitar, Paul Drums and Mic Bass. The band existed for 7 years with this same line up playing over 300 shows around Australia touring with many of Australia’s top bands, playing at many festivals and supporting various cultish international metal bands (Pungent Stench, Deeds of Flesh, Disgorge, Suns Owl)
2005 saw Mic leave the band due to work commitments, as well as other musical projects. After Mic left, Abrasion were nominated in the top 10 hardcore/metal category for the Music Oz awards 2006. Also during this time Paul secured a Paiste cymbal endorsment, Yamaha drum endorsment and Adam secured an endorsment through Mesa/Boogie, ESP guitars & DSL straps.
Many months passed until Nick (House of Thumbs) was approached by the remaining two members. He auditioned mid 2006 and proved himself to be a more than suitable replacement to fill the void that had been missing for several years.
Abrasion are yet to suck satan's cock. They probably never will unless it is in there best interests.
The tracks featured here are examples from Abrasion's music spanning from 1999 to 2005. Check it out.
