Singer/songwriter/guitarist Abrie (Aah-bree) has been writing and performing for several years in both his native South Africa and in Australia, since immigrating in 2000.
Abrie's style is not genre specific, as portrayed in his diversity as both a solo artist and in bands such as energetic Sydney rock outfit, Timeslave. Armed with emotive and insightful lyrics, strong guitar driven melodies and a unique and powerful voice, Abrie delivers his songs with depth and sensitivity, honesty and conviction.
Abrie recorded his debut 4 track acoustic EP, “Waiting for the light”, at the Grove studios on the Central Coast in May 2006, produced and engineered by Andy Sorenson. Songs from this EP have enjoyed TV airplay on the Laugh Garage Comedy club’s “Dazz & Gazz’s Radio show on TV”, as well as radio airplay on a number of stations around Australia.
Hey, We're playing our first Cambridge gig NEXT WEDnesday 27th May. The music starts at 9pm, so if you're free we'd love to see you at the Cambridge dancing, drinking, singing, or whatever it is you may feel the need to do! Also, we'll be celebrating our guitarist Craig's birthday that night, so come and have a drink or two with us before the show. Other bands playing are Wandering Bear and My Name 4 Your Name.
