A Broken Frame was an experiment in sound that started purely as a workout to exorcise some pent-up energy and aggression, but quickly developed into a full-blown project. The antithesis for my other music, a side affect born from frustration and annoyance.
How delightful.
Now, lets boogie!
- Zube
This is one of two projects for programmer, guitarist and sometime singer Zube, while Beautiful Sin focuses more on dark seductive pop song writing, with A Broken Frame he instead kicks out the jams with a selection of industrial tracks built around catchy hooks, riffs and funky electronics. If you imagine a more organic sounding NIN, focusing on making grooves than making walls of emotionally detached noise then youve got a pretty good idea of what A Broken Frame is about.
However this is not to say the music isnt his own, and Zube creates tapestries of sound of incredible cohesion, technical understanding and ability with an almost sexual vibe. Synths bounce off destroyed beats, guitars flare and howl and the overall effect is to create a soundtrack to dance to as the world burns.

How about twenty
minutes of brutal electronic punishment
beatings and bleak industrial landscapes?
Nice one. Theres some clamouring digital
crunch and battering ram beats, the
melodies (oh yes, hes got them) are
distorted to buggery and sound like theme
tunes to lost android western movies. With
huge guns. Harsh, brutal and exhilarating at
its best, the demo marches and scours,
occasionally taking on guitars as extra
weaponry and cranking them up in
insistent krautrocking fashion.
