About The Abscondents

The Abscondents come from a long line of absconders. We played the Tidewater Scene from August 2006 until sometime in 2007. The band was conceived in a holding tank in the Norfolk City Jail. Several members found themselves sharing a toilet and a cold cement floor after a crime sweep on 28th and Omohundra Ave in the tightknit neighborhood of Park Place. We just happened to be lost and stopped to ask for directions. Our practice spot was not much better than the cell, but we were able to crank out some quality shitrock with influences from MC5, Angry Samoans, Captain and Tenille, and the Bad Brains. We hope to release some of our stuff in the near future. Until then...
