About me:

Absinthe Minded is a weekly dark alternative (i.e., gothic, darkwave, dark electro & more...) radio show featured on 98.9 WRFN-LP, Nashville. The distorted vocals, repetitive synths and generally corruptive noise is brought to you by the host, dj [m@].

How to listen: We can be picked up on the airwaves at the frequency 98.9 in the greater Nashville area, or streaming online at www.radiofreenashville.org. The show airs Saturday nights from 9pm - Midnight (central time).

We feature dark music of all variety. We will attempt to bring exposure to new and upcoming artists while featuring known classics and, frankly, anything that sounds good. And we will attempt to bring you some of the freshest noise in upcoming releases from such labels as Alfa Matrix, Silber, Projekt, Metropolis and more.

The Absinthe Minded Staff:

Absinthe Minded is brought to you weekly by your devoted gothly host, dj [m@]. [m@] (formerly Drexn) was the former host of the shows Dead Air Radio & Zombie Nation on WMTS 88.3 from 2005 - 2007. He has also DJ'd numerous club nights in the Nashville & Knoxville area within the last five years. He brings Absinthe Minded a distinctly unique touch with his tastes in EBM & Darkwave.

Zuzsanna provides the Absinthe Minded team with years of knowledge in networking and promotions. Former publisher of a informative 'zine on unsigned underground artists, Zuzsanna will be assisting in spreading the word about local gothic radio and networking us with fellow shows, bands and fans.

(evil)amy has been an instrumental help in graphic design for the Absinthe Minded site, as well as the co-host with [m@] for the first four weeks of the show. She has graciously devoted her time to creating the fantastic first flyer that you see in our page's flyer archive in addition to the banner located below us. While no longer joining [m@] in the studio, (e)a remains a vital part of Absinthe Minded looking as well as it does now.

Who I'd like to meet:

We are always glad to hear from any listener of the show, be it comments, questions, requests or just saying hello. Feedback helps us shape what we bring to you. Feel free to drop us a line on myspace, on our gmail or on AIM during the show. We are always glad to take requests, as well, but cannot guarantee that they will always be played.

If you are a band looking to contact us about playing your music on the show, please make sure that you listen to the format and style that we play. If you think that your song would fit into our show, contact us and we would be glad to hear it. We, however, can not promise that every song will get played.

Lastly, we are always glad to meet people willing to help us spread the word about our show. Take the banner code and stick it on your myspace, your web sites, whatever you like. Tell your friends about us. Tell your friends to tell their friends. Help support local dark radio!
