Absinthe is an all female rock band, founded in 2007 by guitarist Briana Alexis. The girls have been making a name for themselves on the Southern California music scene. Their signature rock sound encompasses heavy guitars with powerful vocals to create heavy catchy songs. The band has rapidly growing solid fan base and regularly shares stages with national acts and play venues such as The House of Blues, Whisky Go Go, Viper Room, Knitting Factory, Club Derby and The Mint. They have also played the main stages of the Calendar Girls Music, L.A. Marathon, LA Femme Film Festival, and Mamapalooza Festivals. It’s no surprise that the industry has taken notice. They have secured endorsements with Tregan Guitars, Seymour Duncan Pickups, In Tune Tuners, Floyd Rose, AMT Electronics, Trailer Trash Pedalboards, Floyd Rose Upgrades, and member of the Gibson Guitars Family of Artists. On that note the band also performed at the 2009 Winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show at the Anaheim Convention Center. The band won several awards at the 2008 Rock City News Magazine Music Awards including Best Female Rock Band, Best Female Fronted Band and Best Female Guitarist. The girls will be featured in an interview with Metaladies along with appearing in their book of best female rockers. Absinthe recently performed at the launch of Guitar Goddess Magazine, held at the Gibson artist showroom. With the band’s new CD coming out soon things will only be getting hotter.
