The history of Abstract Symphony begins at the end of
2001 in the city of San Antonio, Chile. The band started out as an YngwieMalmsteen tribute band,
the first band members were:....
Esteban
Hulloa V. (guitars), Sebastian Pontigo (drums), Andres Valdez (bass), Carlos
Muñoz (guitars). Searching
for musicians in a town like San Antonio was very difficult because of the type
of music we wanted to play, finding a vocalist and a keyboard player was
difficult .After finding the right musicians, Felipe Jeria
on vocals and Eduardo Góngora ..boards, the band
starts to playa lot in San Antonio and
all around the bay area in the year 2002. In early 2003 Sebastian, Andres and
Carlos parted ways with the band, Sebastian moves to Santiago, Carlos to Valparaiso
and Andres to Iquique.....
Esteban Hulloa decides to
put an end to the tribute an starts to write his own material, most of the
songs were written in 2003 and early 2005. After various auditions and a lot of
line up changes the band finally has an stable line
up with David Rebolledo on drums( ex Endriago, Santiago based band ), Juan Andres Oyaneder on bass and Esteban Hulloa
Castro on guitars (ex Ring of Steel).....

This line up plays in various Metal Maniaks fests with bands such as Witchblade,
Harmony, Massacre, Valkiria, Steelrage
, Baco and Pagan Poetry and some local bands in
between 2003 and early 2006 . In 2005 the band parted ways with our keyboard
player and our drummer Eduardo and David to replace this 2 musicians audition
were made (once again) JJ Roldán ..board (ex
Purgatory) and on drum Matias Perez (ex ring of
steel). In early 2006 the band begins to record a total of 10 songs. After the
drums were recorded Matias and Felipe parted ways
with the band because of musical differences .The band concentrates 100% in
recording what would later became our EP Infinite Desire. Not having a drummer
and vocalist the rest of the band starts auditioning musicians .From more than
15 vocalist from all around Santiago and Valparaiso we decide to leave the
Santiago based Marcelo Carvajal who later recorded
the vocals on all the 6 song from the EP in mid 2007 finishing recording,
mixing and mastering of the EP by late November. ....

The first 6 songs were recorded and we decided to
release it as an EP. Uploading the EP to be downloaded for free on the
internet. The EP quickly started to going around from blog to blog and forums
and web pages, having almost 1000 downloads in nearly 2 months only on one of
the formats uploaded (Zshare) not counting the other
formats that were uploaded by other blogs that don’t keep count. Our demo was
written produced and recorded by Esteban Hulloa,
cover art work by JJ Roldán, cover concept by JJ and
Esteban.....
With higher expectation the band expects to record
their debut LP . After that we decided to contact our first drummer Sebastian
Pontigo who in the last five years has been studying drums at EscuelaModerna de Música and after listening to the Demo, he decides to become
part of Abstract Symphony again. ....
Right now the band is rehearsing and putting the
finishing touches for was to become their first professional LP.....
