Writing/drawing/painting/recording music. The outdoors. I'm in love with Appalachian America. Skiing, hiking, camping... Being with my family and friends.
Music
Carcass, Axis Of Perdition, Vomit Spawn, Obituary, Meathook Seed, ...And Oceans, Coffins, Intestine Baalism, Butcher ABC, and roughly 3 million others. Outside of metal; Akira Yomaoka (Silent Hill soundtracks), Maire Brennan, Enya, 80's pop/new wave.
Movies
Cemetery Man, Dead Alive, The Corpse Bride, Nekromantik, Evil Dead, Team America: World Police, Cigarette Burns, Jenifer, Visitor Q, Sleep Away Camp, Ju-on, Marebito, Suspiria, 300, Phenomena, Ben-Hur, Rambo and about a million others.
Television
I don't like TV save for a handful of exceptions; Southpark, King of the Hill, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and of course reruns of shows from a time when TV wasn't so lousy. Old school: Dungeons and Dragons, He-Man, Battlestar Galactica, Tales from the Darkside, Leave it to Beaver, The Cosby Show...
Books
Lovecraft, Barker, Dean Koontz, Brian Lumley, Asamatsu Ken, August Derleth, Sarah Pinborough, Timothy Zahn. Manga: Hideshi Hino, Kazua Umezu, Junji Ito, Kanako Inuki, Toru Yamazaki. Comics: Jhonen Vasquez, anything Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Army of Darkness.
Heroes
There are many heroes in this country and I am indebted to them all. All the boys and girls fighting for my freedom and the freedom of those around me. If I'm ever rich I'll buy you all beer and cigars. My dad, having admirable humility, is an unsung hero but a hero all the same. The rest of my family likewise has humility, but are strong and they are also my heroes. All optimists facing adversity, you are my heroes.
About me:
I was born near the beach. Some of my earliest memories are hiding my little plastic alien men behind a TV in the basement so my little brother Bob wouldn't chew on them, and my mom shining a flashlight against the wall and the two of us saying "Tinkerbell!" I got into art at an early age and it opened all kinds of doors for rejection in society and in school alike. I knew that I hated yuppies as soon as Little Rocky Run came into being and every elitist douche bag in the world swarmed in and muddled up what was left of the hillfolk skirting the metropolitan area of northern Virginia. Other kids thought I was weird. I published my first piece-of-crap book prematurely when I was 22, I think. It was a miserable heap of some unpleasant and foul-smelling substance. I did some band artwork, held a bunch of different jobs to keep up with the family's continuing relocation madness. After too much BS I am now living in VA. My comics can be found in Planet Lovecraft Magazine, and otherwise I am wrapping my fourth official album by my goofball death metal band, Gross. I want to manage Virginia's first subterranean bed and breakfast, built into the side of a mountain. 90% of my past teachers are worthless individuals and aren't worthy of their cheap teaching degrees. Yo!

-Ray Basham "Doin' the Devils Deeds Since 1963"(Creator of "Freaks: An American Family" and star of "Abe's Tomb")
I had absolutely nothing to drink.

Nope, I've never set up at Heroes. Since you have to pay for a table and I don't really have anything printed to sell I figured it would be a waste of $$. Kenny Keen asked to split a table w/ me (he was at Noke Con just in case you don't know him) he's setting up w/ somebody else now. Maybe next year we all could set up together if I can get my act together. Anyway, I'll be wandering around. Yeah, let me know for sure if you can make it. It's small enough where I'm sure I'll see you. Lee
Lee, it's me ... Lee from NOKE CON 2009! Yes, fond memories of the show. Right before my vacation my car and computer monitor went out one me. So, back from Orlando, car fixed and now I can actually use my computer again! Anyway, hope to see you at the next Con and you've inspired me to maybe actually print something out instead of sit around and bs. You're a super talented guy and say hi to your entourage! Later.
