Heroes
Those that help others are my heroes. I have to many to name.
About me: Hi! Let me introduce myself. My names Angela, I have epilepsy which is a Neurological disorder.Epilepsy is better known as seizures. Seizures can range from convulsing seizures very painful(Grand-Mal are the worst ones) to seizures where you just stare off for awhile and are not there. There are many types of seizures not known in by the public and that is why I am writing about it on here. You can look it up and find more information about it on the Epilepsy Foundation website at http://epilepsyfoundation.org/about/. Please consider donating to them!!
I went through countless treatments, etc. when I was younger very painful. I have decided that due to my not wanting children to have to go through what I did, I wish to donate my larger pieces to help research.I also couldn't paint before surgery and now I can so I feel the need to help with it.I do not just want to help those with epilepsy though. I want to help different causes and nonprofits of my choosing.
I had brain surgery for my epilepsy in 1998 not successful and very painful.I had it again in 2003 because of new technology and it was partially successful!! I still have alot of side-effects from the surgery and have severe panic attacks but I am learning to deal with my life. I tried working for awhile but just started having seizures again. I thought that I'd never be able to do anything for a long time.I didn't want to let my condition get the best of me though so I looked it up and others with epilepsy go through what I do. Doctors actually recommend that those with epilepsy work from home because we can not handle stress.
Painting, making jewelry, writing, singing it helps me to not be under stess. Why you ask? I'm not in a crowd when I'm at home, I'm by myself. I can think better by myself and in places that I have gotten used to.Around people that I have gotten to know.I'm trying to make myself be in public situations more but I can feel when I can take it and when I can't. I may not have a pretty life now but I had much less of one before surgery and I may not get paid but I work. I work to help others! My goal is to make this my job until I die. Helping others because others helped me is my main goal.
I won't ask for anything for me but PLEASE consider donating to the Epilepsy Foundation!Help others that have to deal with what I do and worse.

Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet many of my online artist's friends. There are soooo many though, I couldn't possibly name them all. I also don't like to pick one out because I do not think that anyone deserves more attention then anyone else. They ALL are wonderful friends and have taught me that in thinking positively you can overcome anything.

The piece I'm working on is called "finding peace with the shadows." There are pics on facebook in my Healing Through Creativity Album. I haven't decided if it's finished or not. :)
