Abyss was active from January 1997 till 2004. First members were: Fabian Chciuk- (voc/guit.), Maciej Mec- (guit.), Przemek Chciuk - (bass), Michal Mec- (drums).
In May, 1997, they became a quintet with a new basist - Daniel Karbownik. Przemek started to play the keyboard and sing.
The first important gig took part in December 1997 in Rzeszów. ABYSS was supporting Devilyn and Epitome.
The group recorded their first demo in February 1998.
Two tracks from
ABOUT HATE appeared on Boofish Records compilation - ``Epicentrum``.
They play with a new keyboard player Sebastian Bak after Przemek left the group in December 1998.
In 1999 they prepared some new songs and gave lots of gigs. In October they recorded the second demo-CD
DIVINE LIGHT (at SPAART Recording Studio), including three tracks aired in radio and TV.
In 2000 they did a lot of gigs in Poland and Slovakia. One of the songs from
Divine Light appeared on
Blood to come 11- compilation from Thrash`em All magazine.
Since 2001 Fabian was just a vocalist . In February they employed a new guitarist Sebastian Potocki. They played some gigs in Poland and Slovakia in new complete team; for the first time as a headliner in Slovakia.
The debut album
TASTE THE BITTER VENGEANCE was recorded (July-October 2001) at SPAART Recording Studio.

Just after making the album Sebastian Potocki and Sebastian Bak left the group. The new guitarist became Darek Lebek.
During 7 years ABYSS played over 60 concerts.
In the year 2004 the band decided to split up. Although Abyss doesn't exist, its members are still in good relationships and enjoy playing together.
