About me: AOC is your public access station. We exist to support the public's right to free speech, as designated by the First Amendment in the Bill of Rights. A teaching facility, we strive to bring in interesting and beginner friendly workshops to help our members.
A place for networking. We help facilitate connections for creative type people in the community. We offer office and production space, connectivity via meetups, socials and an interactive Facebook presence to support our volunteers and members.
A supporter of the non-profit community. Through programs like the "Message Board" and tailor made workshops for organizations, we help the non-profits of Acadiana get their messages out to the public.
AOC is event and festival friendly. Each year we provide coverage of the area's unique events and festivals like Festival de International.
A non-profit organization operating under a policy-making Board of Directors, which makes policy decisions regarding the purpose, function, goals and activities of the organization.
Everyone has the right to hold opinions without interface and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers.
It is our mission to support diverse community dialog, media literacy and freedom of expression, by providing access to communication technologies. We are here to connect and facilitate locally produced television and equip the residents of Acadiana with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in a media rich society.
Community Message Board offers non-profit organizations an outlet to reach residents of Acadiana.
Members have access to hands on education in all aspects of video production. Members also have exposure opportunities through Cox channels 15, 16 and LUS 3, 4.
AOC has portable production capabilities, a television studio, and editing systems. We have lighting equipment, sound equipment, and computer graphics capabilities. All of these are available at no charge to the access producer.
