HEY SOLmates!!! (Yes, you are now a SOLmate, own it!) Welcome to our MYSPACE! "ACASOLA" California State University Northridge's FIRST a cappella group was created in September 2006 and has been growing for over two years. The (17) members of this ambitious group have been working ever-so-hard to get Acasola out into the public eye, through weekly concerts on campus for all their SOLmates and CSUN's faculty and students, also various acts of kindness in the local community and establishing themselves as a part of the SoCal a’cappella circuit. The group is well on their way to one of the top contenders in the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella competition every year. In their most recent competition Acasola took 1st Runner Up and best Arrangement. Quite the accomplishment for any group in there third year of competition AND existence...
One could compare Acasola to a little Yorkshire terrier: feisty, cuddly, but won't shut up, no matter how many times you hit it with a newspaper. Our persistence to accomplish our goals is un-matched.
Acasola membership is surprisingly diverse, with only a few music majors. Their repertoire is equally diverse, spanning pop, hip hop, alternative, showtunes and hopefully some new styles never done before. The members of Acasola are very excited for this, their third ICCA competition experience of many!
