About Accession Records



Accession Records

were founded in 1995 by Diary Of Dreams’ mastermind Adrian Hates. His intention behind the new label was to offer a creative home for alternative music that would provide a close bond between artists and label. Right from the start, Accession Records focused on extremely well produced music as well as high class CD cover art and packaging, and stayed true to their initial idea of a close collaboration with their artists.

The label never went out to court bands with a big name but rather looked for upcoming artists to build them up to be the big names of tomorrow. The concept worked out, and Bands such as [:SITD:], diorama, Assemblage 23, Panzer AG and of course Diary of Dreams soon proved the label’s recipe to be conclusive, effective and successful – right until the present day.

Geographically, the label originally hailed from Duesseldorf but in 2000 they were offered a warehouse office in Solingen and therefore moved to the West German industrial town.
Due to their extensive and renowned physical and digital distribution net and their impressive roster of artists, Accession Records is now one of the most important and influential labels of Germany’s dark wave and industrial scene.

wurde 1995 von Diary of Dreams' Mastermind Adrian Hates ins Leben gerufen. Intention war es, die Labelwelt um ein kreatives und künstlernahes Zuhause für Alternative Musik zu bereichern. Von Anfang an legte man großen Wert auf klangvolle Produktionen und hochwertige CD Gestaltungen sowie auf die enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Schützlingen.

Ziel war es nie, Szenegrößen aufzukaufen, sondern vielmehr neue, viel versprechende Künstler unter Vertrag zu nehmen und zu den Szenegrößen der Zukunft werden zu lassen. Schon bald bewahrheitete sich das Konzept, und Bands wie [:SITD:], diorama, Assemblage 23, Panzer AG und natürlich Diary of Dreams zeigten, daß das Labelrezept schlüssig, effektiv und erfolgreich war und bis heute noch ist.

Der geographische Ursprung des Labels ist eigentlich in Düsseldorf zu finden, jedoch entschied man sich im Jahre 2000 zugunsten einer Fabriketage den Arbeitssitz nach Solingen zu verlegen.
Heute zählt Accession Records mit seinem außergewöhnlich weitreichenden und renommierten physischen sowie digitalen Vertriebsnetz und einem eindrucksvollen Künstlerroster zu den mit Sicherheit bedeutendsten und ältesten Labels der Szene.
