About me:

We are fighting a very unpopular battle. A battle that is for the future of our children, who will become leaders of tommorrow. We have seen in 2008 an increase in hate crimes against our community, innocent people, who made the American dream a reality. In Benbrook, a Hispanic family was demeaned, humiliated, and assaulted with words of hate. We cannot tolerate this sort of behavior and must be vocal in its opposition, we must call our friends to become involved, to defend the hard work and contributions of not just immigrants, but Hispanic citizens, products of immigrant families. We must all do our part and become involved, register to vote and then exercise that enourmous power and choose the right candidate. We must be willing to support an organization that will defend our community with vigor and tenacity. We must be willing to contribute our time and money so that we can defend ourselves on an even playing field. We are at a disadvantage, we are outnumbered and outfinanced. What we have is the future and that we must nurture, motivate and encourage, that is why this myspace page is so important to us, within the many participants of myspace in Dallas and throughout the United States, lies our future. We hope you will read our blogs carefully, absorb the message and then take action, to become informed, to become an active participant, only then will we be treated with respect and dignity. The fight is not about immigrants, it is about what role we, the close to fifty million Hispanics that live in America, will play. US District Judge Jorge Solis ruled that the City of Irving violated the voting rights of Latino in that city and called for Single Member Districts. The City of Irving, sore losers that they are, will appeal this decision and cause delay of up to five years. Irving will have spent over a million dollars to defend this case.

County Apologizes Still No Answers

Accion America Speaks Out For Family Of Murdered Inmate

Bernardo Mario Pena was murdered on Oct. 17 and family members want to know how their brother was killed. The family was notified of his death almost 24 hours later. Questions remain as to how long it took to provide medical care to him. Accion America is leading the effort to get answers and a response from Sheriff Lupe Valdez.
