I started out with metal, going through the old stuff, like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and so on, before I got up to date with Sepultura, Carcass, Slayer, Boltthrower. I then changed a bit, started up a new band, concentrating on accoustic guitar-pop with a friend of mine. Influences here would be Motorpsycho, Morphine, Belle and Sebastian, Radiohead etc.
In the middle of the 90's I started listening to electronic music. It all started with Goa-trance, wondering how they made the shit. I soon bought myself a computer, and started dabbling. After a couple of years, I started broadening my horizon, and listened to other types of electronic music.
Bands like Ladytron, Fischerspooner, Fairlight Children, Depeche Mode, The Notwist, The Cure, New Order, Felix tha Housecat, Mirwais, Daft Punk, Air, APOP etc, are now topping my playlists. But I still listen to the good old stuff, cause you can use everything anywhere! Besides the electronic scene, I listen to a lot of Indie music. I actually listen to anything (as long as it's not dansband, or opera).
...according to phillip was made two years ago, branching out from a band I started with my mate Henrik Moum (Pelton). He was not that much into electro as I was, and a number of my songs ended up not being used by Pelton, and therefore I started my own project.
My name is Phillip Gordon Shaw, and I am 32 years old. I got my first music instrument when I was about 9 years old. That was a trumpet. (I should have picked drums, though...). I played the trumpet in a brass band for about 7 years before I got fed up with all the marching around. That was about the time I also got my first guitar, so the transition from trumpet to guitar went pretty well (I think my neighbours were pretty happy as well). My best friend played drums in a band called Useless, and they needed a new singer, so I joined the band, and we changed name to Nexus. We also picked up a choir-girl to sing duets with. So the style was mainly thrash-metal with boy/girl duets.
After a couple of years I started drifting a bit in my music influences, and therefore started up the band Bug, with my mate Rino Mossik. I quit Nexus, and concentrated fully on the acoustic pop. We basked our way through Europe and India, played at Sheraton Towers in New Dehli, some concerts in Norway and so on...
I then started drifting in to the electronic world, and started up Pelton with Henrik Moum. (http://www.myspace.com/peltonsound) We tried to make trance, but found out that it was not exactly what we wanted to do. We tried mixing vocals, guitars, bass and electro, and are still working on that. Pelton has remixed Apoptygma Berzerk, Isis Signum and SONO. This project is still going strong with remixing and our own productions.
Now, I'm working on electro mostly, but still work with different people with different expressions. Played the didgerridoo for Sebastian Comor and his project Moonitor, made a remix for Apoptygma Berzerk, wich was released on the limited edition of "Shine On", January 2006. It was also released on Apops Black E.P. in USA. Other remixes include Isis Signum, Auxiliar Channel, Celldweller, Bermuda Triangle, Unni Wilhelmsen. Currently working on more songs, and a couple of remixes...
It's pretty difficult to leave the guitar alone. (The trumpet I have hidden in a cupboard, cause it is pretty awfull listening to people trying to be Louis Armstrong at the afterparty at six in the morning).

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.
"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny
"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman
