Movies
slingblade, boondock saints, princess bride (yeah, it's awesome)Napoleon Dynamite, Borat, Dumb&Dumber, Snatch, monty python stuff, old 50's hot rod movies, Sweet and Lowdown, neverending story, sleepy hollow, all sorts of 50s hot rod/pulp movies
Television
mythbusters...dirty jobs...cops is good...survivorman (that bear grylls guy is a sissy. survivorman doesn't need a camera crew!)...simpsons...it's always sunny in philadelphia
Books
works by Federico García Lorca, Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, Emerson, Thoreau, Wordsworth, Ronald Pearsall, some others...i'm trying to look smart here. Oh, just read A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. Good stuff! Also, Gone for the Day by Ned Smith. I like books with a point. I'm not really a 'fiction' or sci-fi kind of guy. I actually like text books. am i weird? probably.
Heroes
my grandfather, Donald Eugene Riddle. the only other Irishman that was worse at drinking than me, but loved the outdoors just as much.
About me: I like hot rods and kustoms. Not Rat Rodddzz
I collect old records, 78's and 45's particularly.
I'm Cherokee and Irish
I'm attending Hocking College for wildlife management, with plans to be a Wildlife Officer.
I'm in the Rumblers Car Club in Cleveland,OH.
I try to do bonsai. So far I've killed more than has lived...One day i hope to change that.
I tie flies (for fishing...)
I freakin' love wildflowers, trees, birds, etc.
Speaking of fly tying, I love fly fishing.
And speaking of fishing, I like pretty much anything outdoors; Hunting, camping, hiking, etc. I like wildflowers, trees, and gardening (ornamental and food).
I like building cars (hot rods and kustoms that is), wich includes welding, body work, engine building, upholstery (yeah, I can sew...what of it), etc.
I like to play music, though I haven't played anything in over 9 months. Mostly western swing/hillbilly, and 50s rockabilly/rock n' roll. I have played on several CDs with various groups/artists playing either piano, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, drums, upright bass, singin', or steel guitar...
Who I'd like to meet: They're all dead and most people probably never heard of 'em. However, one of them would be Féderico García Lorca. Sequoya, the creator of the Cherokee alphabet. I'd like to have met Thoreau too. He seems like cool guy to have drank a beer, gone fishing and talked about the meaning of life with. Ken Howard. Winfield. Hines. Anyone into old hot rod and kustoms. Django Reinhardt. Dick Kraft.
Longtime no hear, Glad to hear that ya got some outdoor time in Canada. Hope to do that sometime soon. I'm pretty open to everything. I'm not usually into country but this is very pleasant music, and the main melody lines (I think on the slide guitar?) are fucking rich and beautiful. This actually might be my ticket into this kinda stuff... I really don't like the country they play on the stations up in Boston but I've never heard anything like this. Props man!
Am I right? Is it slide guitar that's making that lush beautiful stuff? And if so, that's you playing it, right?
