Monday thru Friday I am an Information Security Engineer and at night and weekends I am a husband and dad. My wife, Carrie (One Stressed Queen), and I have been married for 9 years with Two Pampered Princesses. We also have a zoo at our house with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a handful of fish go figure.
A few years ago, Carrie was getting sick and tired of the point and shoot cameras as they were limited with zoom capabilities. So she wanted a DSLR for Christmas and Santa brought her one. She fell in love with the capabilities of the DSLR (Canon Rebel XT) and started to take some online courses at Betterphoto.com. So after a year of using the DSLR, I was told to get my own and so I went out and got me a DSLR (Canon Rebel XTi).
I started to take online classes at Betterphoto.com as well to get me familiarized with my camera.
We started to go on trips just to take pictures and our girls love to take pictures as well. This past year we went to Hawaii, no princesses. We had the time of our life visiting 4 different islands (Pictures). We have done other trips this past year as well and many more to come in the coming years.
I also have joined a local photography club, Ventura County Camera Club, which has a great format for having photos critiqued and judged. This past year, I have had 2 entries that have been awarded merit and now in the running for pictures of the year.
I also have another expensive hobby which is flying R/C airplanes. The club I belong to is the CI Condors. I used to fly in the early 90’s and decided to pick it back up since I still have the airplanes. I took pictures for the annual Warbird Fly-in for 2007 (Pictures). I tell you what, taking pictures of R/C airplanes is not and easy task especially when these plans fly at speeds of 50 MPH and only 1/16 to 1/4 the size of real airplanes.
