Music, Photography, Concerts, Cooking, Going to the beach or restaurants with friends. Actually I tend to have fun pretty much anywhere when I'm with friends. I always like a good pub too. Not a bar, I'm not too much of a drinker, but a place that's friendly, got darts on the wall, a place you can hang out for hours. Like cheers meets Ireland. And meeting new people, Cards, Movies. This is longer than I expected, apparently I'm pretty easily entertained
Music
Mostly Rock Alternative, the mellower kind tends to be my favorite, but I'll listen to anyone talented. Doesn't matter the style. Although I do listen to less rap, but only because so much of it is so negative, love the beat, hate the lyrics. And I finally started an alphabetical list! It's just a start, but it's something :) Everything listed I dig, capital first letter I love, all caps are my top favorites!

Despite loving telling stories, especially about myself, I hate these things. I don't know how to sum myself up. Plus I've gotta sort through the stories to remember which ones actually happened to me and which ones I just read about and thought happened to me. Seeing a movie with some friends? Probably me. My uncle killing my father to become king? Coulda been Hamlet. Hunting a white whale on The Pequod? I do like boats, I think that one really could go either way.
As for my actual life, in an attempt to keep the length here moderately readable, I'm sticking to just three of my bigger avocations. To begin with, photography. I spent too much time writing and erasing this part, so whatever I come up with next I'm sticking with. I love photography. It's one of my few passions in life. I suppose the other couple things on the list (and the few things I left off the list) are as well. And as that's hard to summarize, I'm going to trust that all of you can just substitute your own passions and wager that's roughly how I feel about mine.
I mostly work in concert and performance photography. And then portrait and architect/cityscapes work as well. But I work those most often because they're my favorites. So for anyone interested in a photographer I'm certainly not limited to those. I'm really available for just about anything from birthdays to portraits or headshots to weddings or anything else you can come up with. Unfortunately my old computer holding most everything I shot crashed. So I might not have 20 shots from every style out there anymoe, but I've still got enough of a collection to show anyone who wants to see it. Either out of interest or to see if I'm good enough for the job you need. Just write me!
Next, music seems to make up my life, and I'm instantly impressed by anyone with exceptional taste in it. I've got some of the bands and my favorite genres listed in the music section of my profile. And while I do have general favorite styles, if there's a truly talented songwriter that can play and sing to back it up, it doesn't really matter what genre it is.
Part of that love of music for me seems to be about that search to find those special songs with that ineffable quality that makes you feel something, well, ineffable really covered it pretty well. And I hope all of you are familiar enough with it to know what I'm talking about. Aside from the music itself, I don't find many things as enjoyable as a great concert! I don't really dig the big stadium shows. I like a night out at a small venue with a great band playing right in front of you, and then finding a pub and an afterparty. Less cliche huge band that trashes the hotel room, more friends, laughs, music and drinks.
And I guess to end the list, I like to help. "Charity work" didn't seem like a fitting description, since so much of what I do is one-on-one. But whatever the title I try to help all I can.
Most of my energy goes to fighting a disease called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or M.E. You may have heard of it by other names, but they tend to leave most with a misconception of the complexity, and most importantly the severity of this illness.
We need all the help we can get, and for anyone without much free time, even the smallest donations are helping to advance research to find a cure. I'll send you a link to the official website donations page of course, rather than just letting you assume I'm trustworthy and I'll get it there for you. So for anyone interested in donating or just educating yourselves on this illness, I've got plenty of information and I'm always happy to answer any questions I can.
I guess that's about it. I'm sure the top three changes occasionally, and this was really more in the order I thought of it than the order of most importance, but I can't imagine having enough interest to reorganize this every time something gained or lost importance. Plus some of the biggest "About Me's" I think would make me sound arrogant in what's essentially a personal equivalent of a form letter.
But I always like meeting new people, so ideally some of you will write me and learn about the rest of me in an environment where I'm not having to consider the word count.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm not really sure what kind of people we're supposed to list here. I don't really have any interest in meeting celebrities, and unless we happen to bump into each other and bond over our mutual and secret love of Journey songs (not all of them, just a few) I doubt I'm gonna get the time to have a meaningful conversation with the people I admire. So instead I'm going to list people I want to meet just to see if they actually exist. Like, people who consider nunchucks a worthwhile investment. Not just finding them at a garage sale and thinking it's funny, but saving up to buy what they deem to be good quality nunchucks. Someone's doing it, not every 'chuck out there is purchased on a whim! I want to meet this person and ask him how he functions with this obvious lack of decision making skills. We'll call that number one, I'll add more as I think of them.
I made my first video slideshow and wanted to share it with you. The musician (Elizabeth Ann Middleton) is one I found through MySpace, and she generously let me use her music to set to my images. Visit her MySpace page here - http://www.myspace.com/pianorama - she's fantastic! :-)
Hey Drew and Drew's friends. Just stopping by to leave you this link for CFS/ME awareness day, May 12th. Please share this with as many people as you know, and as a show of support, you can even display a blue ribbon icon to YOUR friends. :) Read and find blue ribbons here: http://www.blueribboncampaignforme.org/
It's not just "chronic fatigue," and it is debilitating many millions, most undiagnosed.
