There were good times and there were bad times, but when Acetylene was at it's peak they were a breakthrough metal band with new ideas. Acetylene succeeded in many areas but it never translated into what many would call "musical success". High points ranged from winning battle of the band in Malden, MA, recording the full length Cd "Elements of Insanity" and sharing the stage with many local bands and some national acts such as Candiria and Black Label Society. The ultimate downfall for the band was the fact that they never found a permanent 2nd guitarist (lead) and the downward spiral began. When the smoke cleared in 2001 only memories of Acetylene remain. Oh Pat, and dont' forget, I remember those guys telling me something about you were the reason they wanted to split up. I think when it came down to it, they didn't know where they wanted to go musically and the whole ROARR records scared them because it was a big fucking commitment.
