PLEASE NOTE - THIS SITE IS RUN BY LA FORET GROUPE PRODUCTION Achillea is a power metal project with a very European symphonic/industrial sound formed by British born guitarist and songwriter Paul Jupe and drummer Garry King. During early 2011 they started working on some original material that they felt would gain interest from an international audience and so started the process of writing and recording a number of tracks for possible release. The concept was to build a project that pulled people together around the world which it did, this now in itself has turned into a full band project. Garry (Joe Lynn Turner, Jeff Beck) and Paul pulled in some musician resourses to involve a number of other great artists to the project including fellow 'Joe Lynn Turner' 2009/10 band mate Betovani Dinelli. Through another connection Garry and Paul met Gus Cunha (Vocalist) and GiNo Esteves (Guitar) who already work together in their own very successful project. When asked they jumped on board to deliver some amazing performances to the songs. The tracks were recorded in studios in France, UK, Brasil and the USA and are going through the final stages for release in late February 2012. Other artists who have contributed to the project are Grammy Nominated producer Rick Hale and Fabinho Jablonski (Keys and Piano) Martin Larissa (Vocals) Ranscombe (Keyboards) and Li Vereza (Nylon Acoustic) Achillea hope to be in a situation to create some international shows during 2012 after the release. I am very much looking forward to live shows! Each member has brought their own strengths, style and influences to the songs whilst keeping the original feel and meaning of each track. When working on the lyrics and music I wanted to be able to tell a story and set a mood in the hope that the person listening would be able to identify with some of the emotions I am trying to portray. I hope very much to have achieved this. GUS - When I heard the first song that was sent to me by Garry and Paul for a project that they were developing I was amazed. Not just for the quality, the strength and the emotion of the song, but for all the meaning of that simple wave file standing on my computer's screen. It was a whole universe of possibilities. For the first time in my life, I felt that I was no longer limited by the boundaries - cultural and geographic - of the place I live in. Internet had allowed me to finally find (across the sea!) people with the exactly same interests and aspirations as me. In fact, THEY found me. We've been working since then and I never had any other band so professional, original and easy to work than Achillea. Every new song is a gift, like a whole story to be told, and they all are just brilliant. Sometimes I catch myself thinking in the chain of coincidences that had to happen for this band to be joined. And now, here we are against all odds. Let's see what happens. But I promise you, guys: IT WILL BE EPIC! GARRY – After many years of hard work with many projects and artists I have found that my journey has gone full circle. Working with Paul in the past was always great, now we are a little older and wiser it has turned to something very very special. To be able to take these songs and melodies, add my ideas, production and guidance has been amazing. With the input of Gus, GiNo, my buddy Betovani and Larissa has proved to all of us that no matter where you come from or who you are if you have a passion and drive you can make something special happen, they have added ideas, emotion and inspiration to the music. Achillea to me has the core qualities of many great bands, but in itself is unique and has an anthem for success GiNo: My involvement with Achillea began in an unusual way, Garry heard me playing a song that had been sent to him across the Atlantic. Then he invited me as a guest in a song from his new project, still unnamed. Soon after, he and his old friend Paul invited me to join the band. Because of the distance, our compositions are made separately and we only have full comprehension of the songs at the end. Proving that the whole is much more than the sum of the parts, our songs sound powerful and will thrill the listener. It has been very rewarding working with people so professional and wonderful around the world. Let's make our story, guys! BETOVANI – I remember when I started playing…exchanging cassette tapes with friends in school, playing in garages or gathering with other young fellow musicians to exchange knowledge and technics. With the Internet and a whole bunch of technological gadgets I do the same things with friends all over the world. Thanks to that, I have the opportunity to feel all the excitement I used to have back then. And the Achillea project is the fulfillment of the dreams I had in my youth. Playing, creating and recording with such talented musicians all over the world. This is oneness. We use the cyberspace to unite our minds in one heart, bringing something unique to life through music. Can't wait to see that happening on the same stage. It will be pure bliss!!!
