Born in Dublin in 1980. DJ, Arranger, Composer, Bass Player, Sound Engineer, and Artist.
The name Acid Shell is an anagram of my name, and that is why I use it, just in case you were wondering. It's not just some name I made up because it sounds good. Opinions on any of my tracks you have listened to would be great. What to remove especially.
And yes I do my own page. Recently I have decided to vent my anger on my page, primarily because of all the add requests I get from "musicians/bands".
Music is what I am about. I hate commercialism especially in music, it has no place, and is not music. It's just a digraceful formula that clueless people who think they know it all got suckered into when they were growing up (aka Catchy). Catchy means it's a formula that sells well to the cattle. Say Mooo, wave your lighters in the air, sing along to the chorus, and then pull down your pants, and squeeze out all the bull all over each others faces!
I listen to a seriously eclectic range, and am not narrow minded either. Anything that has genuine effort put into it, i like. I disagree with everyone who writes music or DJ's purely to be popular or for money, and never push the envelope. So screw modern Hip-Hop(All Of It!), Hard House/Trance(same difference), UK Garage, modern Rock, Skater Rock, Cheezy Judge Jules Trance (go suck on those udders & get that sour lactic flavour), and anything else that is sell out Pop music.
Lets not forget "scream into a microphone and call it music"-Rock (It's not Rock or music). I heard better noise coming out my ass than that.
I also hate catagorising music, but its good for one thing, eliminating the chance of hearing aural diarrhoea.
Also people who call all forms of Electronic music Techno, pisses me off a lot too. eg. type "techno mp3" into google, and I guarantee you dont find any.
Instead you'll find, a load of knob cheese like Trance/House/Pop pretending it's Techno, and it wont even have Techno Beats.
So... What do I like?
Techno, DnB, Breakbeat, Jungle, Electro, Jazz, Funk, Punk, IDM, EBM, Dub, Reggae, Classic Hip-Hop, Classic Rock, Acid etc...
