AckDaddy is Travis Acker, a true musician looking to create a new style of music that represents him and the culture he comes from. Playing all styles of music, AckDaddy is looking to break down traditional Genres to create a fusion of styles from around the world. Born and raised in South Florida, AckDaddy has a variety of infulences. He was brought up in the South Florida Punk culture of the late 90's. As Punk took over his life he learned about such Genres as Third Wave Ska, Skacore, Emo, Hardcore, Indie Rock, and more from the local scenes and the morning show on 88.5. As the Punk scene settled AckDaddy moved on from his band Mugwump to concentrate on mastering the art of improvisational Bass Guitar. Ack has been exposed to Dirty South Rap, Booty, Hip Hop, Reggae, Afro-Cuban Jazz, along with classic American music such as R&B, Blues, Rock and Roll. Through South Florida's molding of international cultures AckDaddy has influences from Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Latin America. As Ack developed he gained access to great American styles of music such as Classic Rock and Jazz. AckDaddy went to Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts where he studied Funk/Fusion jumping deeper into Jazz and the Jam Scene. Moving to Tallahassee Ack has played in Sopchoppy learning about American Roots Music, such as Country, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, New Orleans Funk, and Southern Rock. Playing Bass Guitar, Midi Keys, Organ, Drums, Percussion, Guitar, Turn Tables, and Freestyling, AckDaddy indulges in many different instruments. Now AckDaddy is experimenting with a sound that incorporates all of the music he loves. Rescently graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Humanities, focusing on Philosophy and Music. Ack has interest in Studying cultures of the world and relating their music development to each other. A man who is truely devoted to the progress of music be sure to follow what he is putting out next.
