A Cool Stick is a Baltimore based Hip-Hop band that combines intelligent lyrics with live instrumentation. Their musical inspirations range from Jay-Z and Lupe Fiasco to Jason Mraz and Jimi Hendrix. Whether it is in the studio, the practice hall, or on stage at a live performance, their professional approach makes the music tight and their attitudes confident.
The band consists of five members; Brian Aranda (22) plays drums. Brendan Floyd, aka Fuzz (25), plays the bass. James Hughes (22) plays both acoustic and electric guitar. The band features two vocalists, Luke O’Brien (22) and John Fitch (21), who also plays keys and produces in his home studio.
Currently, A Cool Stick has a lot on their plate, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. The band began playing live shows in the summer of 2009, and have since worked their way onto the stages of reputable venues such as Ram’s Head Live, The Ottobar, and The Recher Theatre. The band is concluding the recording of their first EP which is set to be released in hard copy on November 5, 2009 and then digitally in late November.
