A Cosmonaut’s Ruin began in the fall of 2005 with the initial collaboration of guitarist Josh Nicklay and bassist Tom Mathews whose influences ranged from The Dismemberment Plan and Minus the Bear to Swarm of the Lotus and Slayer. After a few months of writing, the duo recruited second guitarist Matthew Gatto whose melodic ear breathed life and character into existing asymmetric, off time riffs. After playing and recording with several drummers, the group finally settled on former Cataract Camp drummer Steve Snider who brings an entirely fresh rhythmic perspective. With lyrics that read like an Asimov epic and riffs that shake the deepest regions of the cosmos, look for A Cosmonaut’s Ruin as they blaze a path of destruction through central Virginia and beyond.

Glad to hear the release show was a righteous event!
Sorry we couldn't make it ... we were in the forest teaching Neko how to hunt Republicans. Although now we feel that she is ready, we are saddened that we cannot travel backward in space-time re-release your record. Bummer for us, bonus for you.
7"! I can't wait for that. New songs sound siiiick. And T-shirts?! How did I miss this at macrock, I've been waiting for you all to get some shirts. This means we will have to play together soon. Going to be around for the summer?
