From the backhills of Kentucky to the CA Coast, Stacy Keith has been a performer most of her life. Stacy was introduced to the stage as a young dancer, meriting scholarships to SF Ballet, with later expansion into Jazz and African dancing.
Translating dance into music, Stacy began playing guitar and writing as a teen, equiped with a Sears guitar. She later performed extensively in a variety of venues ranging from coffee houses, honky tonk bars, fine restaurants and mountain retreats to auditoriums and festivals. Being a writer by nature, and writing extensive poetry throughout her life, her music naturally cumulated into songwriting over the years.
Stacy's combines a strong playing style, alternate tunings, evocative songwriting and vocals. Her songs radiate raw emotion, humor, tenderness, grit, passion, reverence and irreverence combined. She traverses the genre's of Folk, Cross Country, Alternative and Americana, fluidly into her own unique signature style.
In a recent cross-country 'roots' journey, Stacy combined her songwriting, signature picking style and vocals with the trademark 12-string Guild, soulful harps and vocals of Mark Catrambone, at The Dawg House Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. This project proved to be the catalyst for a deeper collaboration between these two Americana musicians. Initially emerging as "The Heartland Express," the two have further honed their musical endeavors as "The Bodie Travelers"
.
"The Bodie Travelers" - Stace and Mark blend their wrap around harmonies and individual playing styles, performing original, traditional and selectively, hand picked musical compositions.
