I grew up in a little town called Annandale in the state of Minnesota. I was born in St. Cloud, Mn in the year of 1957 to a Mr and Mrs Charles Rode; my father is now deceased, God rest his soul.
For the first year of my life along with my two older brothers, Mark and Curt; we all lived in a Railroad Box car, yes you heard that correctly, a railroad box car, in the town of South Haven, MN, it is about 6 miles due west on Hwy 55 of Annandale, MN. We moved to Annandale, MN when I was 1 into a big double story house just behind the United Methadist Church off of Main St. in Annandale. We all lived there till my father and a friend of his who was in the construction business built a house on the North shore of Lake John, just about 3 miles west on Hwy 55, in 1967. It was a double story house with a walk out basement, a walk out second story porch, that spanned the length of the house. It was an awesome home. My parents then divorced when I was in 10 grade so they sold the house and I moved into a apt with my mom and my younger sisiter. We lived in that Apt for two years in Annandale, MN till I went off a joined the US Navy in 1976. I Learned how to repair typewriters and Copiers while in the Navy and I served 4 years abaord the USS America, CV-66. Aircraft Carrier, which now lies off the coast of Norfolk, VA as she was decommissioned and scuttled a few years back.
I continued to repaire Office machines with a few different companies for several years after I was Honerably discharged from the US Navy in 1980. I worked at a St Cloud shop called A-1 Typewriters for 2 years. That was short lived as they laid me off due to no business so I moved to Colorado in 1982 for 2 years and worked at another repair shop called Acme Typewritters just inside of downtown Denver, Co. From there I moved back to Annandale, MN to work for A-1 Typewriters again in 1984 til 1989 then in 1989 I went to a trade school to learn to be a Medical Laboratory Technician and interned at Bloomington Lake Clinic from 1990 till 1993. Which is were I met my future wife Bridgett. The two of us got married in 1991 and we now have 2 boys; Alex and Brandon. Bridgett brought 2 children into our marriage, Mike and Nicole. Then in 1993 I went back to office repair and worked for BMS out of Eden Prairie, MN. From there I got a job with Target in 1997, working downtown Mpls, MN at the Target Headquarters installing the operating system and client based software onto 10 to 15 computers a day and tranporting those computers to the Target employee's desk and getting them setup on the network and ready for the new employee. I worked at Target for 7 years and from there I went to HOM Furniture as a Sales Consultant in 2004. Enough about me and my past lets get to the present.
I titled my Album "Emotions at Play" My album consists of music that I have written, composed and recorded over the years. More recently though I have re recorded my music using updated technology to give my music a better overall sound and quality, still not perfect yet, in time though. Granted when you listen to some of the songs you will hear that they still need work, and I'm still in the process of making every song sound it's best. Reworking the words and re arranging the chords I play on my guitar, some going from straight pickin to upbeat rythems. I purchased a new Micrphone by Sennheiser, model Evolution e815 s, the M-Audio MobilePre USB Portable Audio Interface along with my new guitar the Takamine EG530SSC acoustic 6 string with the TK-40 electronic pick-up. All these put together will greatly enhance my music for a richer cleaner sound. The guitar is probably the best guitar I have ever played. I like the way it sounds as an acoustic as well as how it sounds via recording or amplified. So sit back, click on my songs and give a listen and enjoy. Let me know what you think of my songs and my site. Thank you for stopping by and if you know someone who would also like to listen to my music, send to my site or better yet post my widget's in your blogs. Thanks and may my music move your soul. Scott Rode

Thank you so much for your interest in what I have going on in my head, it is newborn & only a day old at this point, but I am going to dedicate the next few months into getting the idea out there and hopefully getting more people like yourself involved~ If we built a small army and everyone released their projects on the same day, it could get a lot of attention if done correctly~ You are one of the coolest people I have ever met and your a badass musician on top of that~ Thanks again for supporting my crazy mind, it means a lot to me. Cheers towards the future my friend~ KNiFA

It's a pleasure to count you as a friend, you obviously breathe and eat music out of love and not greed. That is so rare!
Real music for real people, that concept seems alien in today's world, sadly.
Your interpretations of Shawn's songs are flawless and heartfelt. I also watched your video of him at the Minnesota Zoo, I was totally amazed! Unbeleivable performance. This man is so talented, humble and human, it's almost eerie. Thank you for sharing this.
