For nearly a decade Acoustic Playhouse has been a powerful force in the Los Angeles music scene. “The AP” can be credited with having transformed the local singer-songwriter market into what it is today. At one time taleneted, up-and-coming tunesmiths were found performing only in small coffeehouses. Today, due to the efforts of Acoustic Playhouse, these same artists can now be be seen as headliners in bigger, well-known venues in the live music club circuit. Acoustic Playhouse reigns as L.A.’s premier live music and visual art promotions network. It is this artist-friendly “family” vibe that has helped numerous talents launch successful, note-worthy careers. Over the past eight years "The AP" has been affiliated with nearly every major venue in the LA area having produced some of the most popular, creative events in the LA music and art scenes such as "Bohemian Shindig", "The Annual Jeff Buckley Birthday Tribute", "Monsters Of Acoustic Rock", “Avant Garden", "Rock Comedy All Stars" and "Cleochella" to name just a few. Spearheaded by promoter Cleo Antonelli, Acoustic Playhouse was launched in 2002 at Club 7969 as an open mic night. It immediately after found residence as a nightly promotion at Tempest nightclub (now Crown Bar). There developed a new scene that would soon outshine the hard rock/metal bands of that time that saturated the clubs in Hollywood for decades. The singer-songwriter genre quickly became L.A’s biggest musical export. After two years at Tempest, the now nationally recognized AP moved forward to launch a successful campaign of promotions at an array of famous venues. Most notably, Acoustic Playhouse has been built on a philosphy of artistic community and understanding. It is an artistic network and booking company run by artists for other artists rather than buiness only non-musicans. Along the way numerous AP artists have signed with major labels, received publishing deals and done major tours. Additionally, a multitude of Acoustic Playhouse artists have had their music placed in feature films and various TV soundtracks.
