Started July 21, 2006, acousticroof.ca is a network that aims to facilitate the growth of Canadian house concerts for the benefit of music artists and audiences. We work with artists, artist managers, house concert venue hosts, and audiences to enhance the Canadian house concert network. There are about 500 artists with profiles on acousticroof.ca
acousticroof.ca is currently owned and operated by volunteers who also host the "Lift the Wind Concert Series" in Nova Scotia. If you would like to make a donation to help keep acousticroof.ca free, click on our "PayPal payments" button. This will link you to our PayPal account, note that at present, it will say "Lift the Wind."
We'd like to hear from touring ARTISTS (Canadian or planning to tour in Canada) who play acoustic or lightly electrified shows who would like to perform at Canadian House Concert venues.
We'd like to hear from CANADIAN HOSTS who would like to host artists in intimate listening environments for 20 people or more - depending on how many your home or community facility will hold. We include non-commercial venues such as community halls, church basements and occasional coffee house events.
Listing on www.acousticroof.ca is FREE for ARTISTS and HOSTS. You can also purchase ads....WHAT WOULD THESE ADS BE FOR? well, you could promote yourself before planning a tour to a specific area. Your ad would let our current hosts, potential hosts, and fellow musicians know your availability details - therefore creating more potential for shows, mini-festivals, shared stages and bigger audiences.
