London Bridge has always been a thriving area.. From beheading to eating the atmosphere has always been one of hussle and bussle, just a 2 minute walk takes you to the tranquility of Acoustic Suicide.. The newest night in sarf east london... The night was the brain child of ex-band mates and long term muckers Dexter Bentley and Doug Hart, who collectively decided it would be fun to have a selfish night where the best acts in their eyes can play there hearts out, naked musically speaking and without amps, all decided over a pint in The Gladstone .. The home of Acoustic Suicide ...
Dexter’s Hello Goodbye show on Resonance FM has long been the home to exciting a new acts and the night is a chance to celebrate that fact, and celebrate it does .. Doug’ Hydrogen Dukebox empire has been involved in releasing records and everything else that goes with it for an equal amount of time .. And their mutual love of bear bones music made the night happen. ACOUSTIC SUICIDE is planning to start a label soon releasing 7” singles and albums of some of the acts that come through the venue.
Amps have of course made it into the venue (sneaked .. And even been plugged in) and drums .. Well some .. But all the acts that have played so far have been amazing, Suicide has been host so far to the sublime and delicate Fireworks Night, the bluesed out Congregation, the folktastic Daniel Orcese and the message and the ideaolagy has been clear and simple, come and play with no gimmix, play music in it’s most simple form .. Hang your heart on your sleeve and let it flow.. Acoustic Suicide is a night to remember in one of the most intimate venues London has to offer .. See you there !!

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 09 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
