WATER-COLORS TO NO WASTE LIFE is a artistic project ideated by GIUSEPPE STAMPONE; developed and directed by MARINA PALOMBARO, MARIA CRISTINA PALOMBIERI (MARIA CRISPAL), EMIDIO SCIANNELLA, DAVIDE SOTTANELLI and GIUSEPPE STAMPONE, whit the ONG -PROGETTOMONDO- MLAL and EUROPEAN UNION WATERCOLORS TO NO WASTE THE LIFE/THE REASON OF THE H2O, TWO WAYS TO PLANE THE FUTURE… …concerns a global art action, ideated by Giuseppe Stampone, about the making aware to the correct use of the water resources, in collaboration with Solstizio, that is one of the creators, and the partnership of the ONG ProgettoMondo MLAL. It was tested for the first time in 2006 in the province of Teramo, involving 80 school institutes of 40 towns, and more of 10.000 schoolboys. Then, in Umbria at the Umbria Workshops 2007 manifestation, with the involving of the primary schools. In this phase the project was supported by ATO of Teramo nr.5 and the School Provincial Office of Teramo. The photographic posters, that are the final outcome of the interaction between the schoolboys and the artist, will be given to the ONG ProgettoMondo MLAL, that will take care to manage the sell and the destination of the proceeds to specific projects in the areas where it works, certifying the participation of every child to the support of social initiatives in other areas of the world. The following year, the project was integrated by the artist with the reason of the h2o, another level of involvement and an innovative way of social communication. The idea consists in shooting through a telecamera a why, an open question about the subject “water” that every child asks to the world, and in spreading it through the social network and generalist media platforms. The intervention, therefore, thanks to the sharing and the relationship among many people, handed, from the limited territorial dimension of the schools of the Centre of Italy, to the “unlimited” one of the Web, availing itself on the contacts, allowed by the collaboration with the ONG operating in several countries of the “South” of the world, through development cooperation projects. It has been present since 43 years in 21 countries (Latin America and Africa), having carried out more than 300 projects. Campaigns of “why h2o” collection has been carried out in Africa and now also in other countries of the world (Latin America, Europe). In 2008/2009, the intervention started in the region Marche, thanks to the partnership of the ONG Progetto Mondo MLAL and the financial support of the Regional Environment Department. The intervention is a winner of the European Union project (increasing the European public opinion consciousness about the development problems), proposed by ProgettoMondo MLAL - leader the municipality of Vicenza - building a partnership oriented towards the expansion in European territorial contexts (Polonia and Croatia) and in Burkina Faso. A linking camper will document everything in real time on the social network platforms and in the tridimensional territories of Second Life, where the users can take part in real time and add comments and answer contents. In 2008, the intervention was be further enriched through the cinema experimental laboratory that used the cinematographic language to face the water social problems. 10 short films have been carried out with the support, for the technical and operative phases, of experts, that assisted the schoolboys in the discovery of the reciprocity levels between fiction and reality. A work entitled “Global Art Laboratory”, with interventions of Franco Speroni, Derrick De Kerchkove, Alberto Abruzzese, Eugenio Viola, Giuseppe Stampone, Michel Maffesoli, will be soon publish. Another way of intervention is the partecipation to the project Turning the world upside-down in Burkina Faso, departments of Loropeni and Kampti (province of Poni). The activities are addressed to the schoolchildren of the primary schools, who will be demanded to photograph both the positive and desirable, and the negative and disgraceful, conditions of their villages concerning the hygiene and water problems. The photos will represent the educational instrument of a correct behaviour in respect to both problems and will be inserted in the social network platforms (Flickr, Myspace, Facebook), to encourage a knowledge and sensitization process towards the connecting worlds. The representation will be assigned to two avatars in Second Life, in order to interact with the adult communities of the North. The project gets in a wider plan, A SI JIWE, that the ONG ProgettoMondo MLAL is carrying out in Burkina Faso; it has involved the mobile phone society Zain as technologic partner.
