   Acrosstown Repertory Theatre's Blurbs
About me:
Coming Soon 08-09 Season!
Since its inception in 1980, the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre has provided Gainesville and Alachua County with a unique and innovative cultural experience. There are many opportunities for exploring acting, writing, directing, and production for many diverse sectors of our community, especially for those who otherwise might not enjoy such opportunities.
Citizens of all ages, races, and socio-economic backgrounds participate in the theatre's activities. Professional and novice playwrights, poets, and other creative artists have enjoyed having their works staged. Workshops and performance opportunities for children, the elderly, the disabled, and minorities have been promoted. Our young acting group, the Student Ensemble Theatre (SET), also performs several times a year.
The theatre is also a community site open for rental to local high schools, bands, and others.
The theatre is an air conditioned facility that seats 80 patrons. It is located in the Baird center at 619 South Main Street Gainesville, Florida 32601.

The Monty Python performances were OUTSTANDING!!! last night. The Improves, so enjoyable...better than on Drew Carey!
Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
My son and I moved up here from Ft. Lauderdale and we are happy to know the arts are alive and very healthy here in beautiful Gainesville.
I also attended Lillian's jam night and found the local musicians some of the best. My older son (36) went to school and lived here for many years, he is a musician in living in Colorado Springs, Co who when here ran a Jazz and Blues club called the Soulhouse for 9 years, they knocked down the old house it was in and put up the new courthouse downtown...I am happy to see that we are hanging on to a lot of the historical buildings here. To let you all know Lillian's is having a benefit for wounded vets next Monday night 9pm to closing. Passing along the post so all of Gainesville can come out and enjoy great music and do a good thing.
Peace & love,
lin
Monday Night at Lillian's Music Store Downtown Gainesville, Florida

Lillian's is definitely one of THE BEST bars in the country...possibly THE BEST

Not only is the atmosphere warm and friendly, the bar magnificent and the bartenders the best looking..AND the musician's that perform there are so outstanding that you will be unable to stay off the dance floor. Not only will you have one of the BEST times in your life...maybe THE BEST but.....on top of all this when you come to Lillian's on Monday night October 1st... you will be attending a SPECIAL Jam night..every Monday is Jam night, but this is really special:

LILLIAN'S JAM NIGHT FOR OUR SPECIAL HEROS - Monday October 1st!

This Monday night Jam at Lillian's will be a little different. This night will be a benefit for our wounded veterans from the Iraq/Afghan War.

Lillian's Monday Night Jam, in association with the 'Hometown Fundraiser Organization', will host this benefit. Please come and support this cause
