Project TOTO - Be the next outreach blogger
ActionAid doesn't just hand out aid. We work with people in poor countries to give them the power and resources to change their own lives - for good.
We provide immediate assistance where it is needed and work in the halls of power to make sure the policies of influential countries and institutions help rather than harm the interests of poor people.
In over 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, we take a rights based approach to end poverty for good.
Do you have what it takes to be an ActionAid outreach blogger? ActionAid Australia is searching for an energetic Australian to be our next outreach blogger, to help give poverty a voice.
Using blogs, Twitter, Facebook and more, the outreach blogger will travel to one of ActionAid's program countries to help locals harness the power of social media to secure their human rights.
You don't need to be a blogging expert, you just need to have an open mind and be passionate about fighting the root causes of poverty.

Hello ~ thank you for being a friend of Moonwarriors. 800 dogs & cats are killed every hour in the US, often by inhumane methods such as gassing or heart sticking. This cruel disposal of homeless & stray animals is paid for by your taxes. Sponsors of petitions promoting no-kill alternatives have shown that it would be more cost effective & humane to fund spay-neuter programs, adoption schemes & sanctuaries.
"What is unconscionable, abominable and outrageous is that animals, healthy and well-behaved, are being killed because someone says there are too many. That is something we do not accept. That is something we find intolerable" - Richard Avanzino, President, San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (1997)
Please visit my blog for more info & to sign petitions to end the animal gas chambers:
Ban gas chambers, close kill shelters and start sanctuaries - click here to sign petitions
There are 14, if you could sign at least some that would be great ~ Have a good week ~ Thank you for helping animals

A lone whale glides by in her watery flight.
A cry so lonely, a wailing of despair,
Something precious lost in the great somewhere.
Serene, yet watchful, moving always in fear
Of death's stillness, she searches ever near.
Pulling sunlight upward with care,
She caresses the surface and mists the salty air.
Nothing! Not a movement, except a hulking mass,
A predator's scent, a watchful, sweeping pass.
Dangerously taunting, the sight draws her near
As battered nets pull in Death and despair.
Her baby! Her angel! Death had claimed its song,
While a quiet stillness seemed to linger on.
Across the endless ocean, far below the sky,
A mournful mother sang a haunting lullaby.
