Heavy rock meets metal in a whole new way! Vocals with attitude, pounding bass & drums and multi-textured guitar riffs are what Rick Devault (guitar, vocals) and Eric Frendas (bass, back vocals) had in mind when they formed, in 2001. With Rick also playing drums, Action Over Drive hit the studio and quickly recorded "Machine", their 12-song debut, released through Ear-thrill Records, AOD's label. In 2004, J.S. Gareau became the drummer and the shows started, promoting the album. The CD was distributed by Neoblast Records who unfortunately closed down in spring'05. Shows continued with new drummer Sebastien Vallieres who appeared to be more dedicated and available, but he had to quit after three gigs, for medical reasons, right when a 6-song EP was gonna be released. That EP project died, and the drummer search restarted, but turned out to be a real waste of time, and time flies!

The writing of the second album naturally progressed during 2005, ending up being recorded with Rick on drums once again. Sylvain Millard came in the picture when the album was being mixed. He filled in for the shows and became AOD's new hitman. Simply entitled DARE, this follow up effort was released in the fall of 2007. It delivers the band's original concept, and pushes it to another level. Thunderous grooves, fat hooks & innovative structures that make this powerpacked 10-song CD a fresh & unique sounding one. Action Over Drive are now bringing "DARE" onstage; and they dare you to be there!
